OVERFLOWCliff Duren, April Duren & Heather Richardson

Overflow is made up of husband/wife team, Cliff and April Duren, along with their good friend, Heather Richardson. Their ministry together started at First Baptist Church Woodstock, GA, where they led wor-ship on a weekly basis. As other opportunities came, the trio felt led to embark on their first Overflow re-cording in 2011, “All to Bring You Glory.” Since then, they have recorded 4 projects; their most recent re-lease being “You Reign Forever.” Each recording con-tains an eclectic mix of modern worship, gospel, and a cappella music. No matter the style, Overflow has their heart set on lifting high the name of Jesus and sharing the true saving message of the Gospel.

Cliff and wife, April, have 4 children (Mac, Sydney, Elijah, & Emma Kate). Cliff writes and produces music resources for the local church in addition to serving as the worship pastor at the Church at Station Hill in Spring Hill, TN, a Regional Campus of Brentwood Baptist Church. April teaches a weekly Bible study, does studio session work, and is very active in the music ministry at SH.

Heather and her husband, Scott, live in Woodstock, GA with their 5 children (3 biological girls: Addie, Ol-ivia & Sophie; and 2 adopted children: Noah & Tiffany), where she continues to lead on the worship team at FBCW. Scott works in commercial construction and is an incredible supporter of the music ministry of Overflow.

Every Overflow event has its own unique feel and approach. You may find the group leading worship for a conference or worship service, doing a full concert, or joining together with choirs and orchestras for a worship concert. No matter the occasion, Cliff, April, and Heather are humbled and thrilled for every op-portunity to represent Christ & minister through music.

LINDSEY MILLERAcoustic/Rhythm Guitar

Lindsey Miller is a freelance guitarist based in Nash-

ville, TN. Known best for her stylistic versatility, she

can be seen and heard in a variety of settings from

large stages, pit orchestras, and recording studios to

church conferences and small ministries. Her most re-

cent credits include touring with Lauren Daigle and For

King and Country on their 2016 Christmas tour and ap-

pearances on five episodes of the ABC/CMT tv show

Nashville. As a session player, Lindsey has worked on

a variety of projects including jazz big bands, musi-

cals, theme park shows, and artist records. Her ability

to read notation and double on several other instru-

ments has made her a welcome addition to the Nash-

ville scene. You can hear her along with other notable

musicians such as Keith Carlock and Tim Reynolds on saxophonist Jeff Coffin’s upcoming album “Next Time

Yellow” due to be released in 2017. In addition to her accomplishments as a performer, Lindsey has always

been passionate about worship and music ministry. She’s a 2013 graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theologi-

cal Seminary and currently serves at Brentwood Baptist Church in Brentwood, TN. It’s her hope that all music

ministries no matter how large or small can develop their gifts in a way that best communicates the gospel

and brings honor and glory to God.

GREG MCGINNIS Drums

Greg McGinnis began playing music at a young age.

Growing up in the church and following his father’s

footsteps, he began playing in the orchestra at age 12

in his home church of First Baptist Clarksville, Tennes-

see. These formative years helped to shape his playing

and his heart to serve the Lord by serving in the music

ministry. Moving to Nashville in 2005 to pursue a career

in music, he graduated from Belmont University, study-

ing recording engineering and audio production. Equal

parts engineer and musician, Greg has had the oppor-

tunity to work with Michael W. Smith, Travis Cottrell,

Cliff Duren, Laura Story, Voices of Joy, and others. Greg is married to his high school sweetheart Courtney.

They have 2 young children, Laura Jane and Griffin. You can find him playing drums regularly at his home

church in Spring Hill, TN, the Church at Station Hill.

WORSHIP PASTOR INTENSIVEDr. David Manner

Friday Morning Plenary Title: “More Than A Feeling”Mark 12:28-31Is it possible our worshippers are hooked on a feeling instead of spirit and truth worship? So if that feeling is not elicited, are they leaving our worship services believing worship couldn’t and didn’t occur? Worship that just stirs the emotions may not be worship at all.

Saturday Morning PlenaryTitle: “The Unforced Rhythms of Grace”Matthew 11:28-30If you’ve flown on a commerical airline you have heard the flight attendant recite the following pre-flight safety instructions: “In the unlikely event the air level in the main cabin becomes unstable, oxygen masks will drop in front of each passenger.” Passengers are then instructed to secure their own masks before assisting other passengers. Some of us are exhausted physically, emotionally, and spiritually. So how can we expect to lead otherswhere we no longer have the resolve to go ourselves?

50 Worship Tips Rookies Should Learn andVeterans Should RelearnIt doesn’t matter if you are a worship-leadingnovice or aging veteran; you have inevitably looked back at certain services, special events, entire seasons or various relationships with a deep longing for a second chance to handle things differently. It’s impossible to go back and make corrections for most of those situations. But we do have a chance to get it right the next time.

Why Grandparents and Grandchildren Can’t Worship TogetherIn an effort to appease multiple generations and minimize conflict, we often look for a watered down stylistic and musical common ground or divide our church along age and preference lines. Except in rare cases, the worshiping community suffers and all generations lose. So how can we help “One generation praise God’s works to another?” (Psalm 145:4)

(Dr. David Manner, cont’d)Creating Worship TouristsIf we never involve our congregants as more than casual bystanders while we read, speak, sing, play, pray, testify, lead, mediate, commune, baptize, confess, thank, petition and exhort for them, then how can we expect them to transform from passive spectators to active participators? Aren’t we really creating worship tourists who select their destination based solely on their impression of the platform tour guide and excursion offered rather than worship travelers on a continuous journey?
