This morning, we center our worship services on the Lord’s Supper. All Christ followers are welcome to participate in the taking of the Supper.

The longer I walk with Christ, the more I am convinced the Supper must be treated as a gift from God. In the midst of life’s good things and life’s distractions, the Supper reminds us God is the source of life. Even as we wrestle with multiple claims upon our allegiance, the Supper calls us to give ourselves to God. When we are tempted to regard faith as a strictly private affair, the Supper prompts us to accept and engage the community of faith. In an age given to the pursuit of safety and acquisition, the Supper celebrates sacrifice for the sake of all others.

Honestly, the Lord’s Supper ranks high on the list of counter-cultural actions a Christian and the church takes. Remember this as you take the bread and cup.
