FAIR REGULATIONSALCOHOLAlcohol is not allowed to be brought onto the fairgrounds. There will be 2 Beer Gardens & limited bar on the grounds for purchase of alcoholic beverages.CONCESSIONSWe are conscientious in granting concessions and always try to avoid having any objectionable characters on our fair-grounds during the fair, so that no man, woman, or child can have any cause for complaint. We want our fair to be clean in every respect.AUTO PARKINGAutomobiles will be required to park in places designated by those in charge of the parking. The Fair Management as-sumes no obligation and no liability for any thefts or damages that may occur. Please note rule 14.ADVERTISEMENTSThe promiscuous distribution of handbills or other advertising matter is strictly prohibited, and no tacking or posting of ad-vertising bills, cards, etc., will be permitted on any of the buildings or elsewhere. Exhibitors may advertise at, and distribute from, their places of exhibit only.RULESWhile the greatest possible care will be taken by the management to protect patrons of the Washington County Fair, each individual will be held personally responsible for his or her actions, and the management will not be responsible for any in-jury. The Board of Directors of the Washington County Agricultural Society reserves the final and absolute right to interpret these rules and regulations and arbitrarily settle and determine all matters, questions and differences in regard thereto and otherwise arising out of, connected with, or incident to, the Fair.1. The entry of articles or animals must be made in the name of the owner or a duly authorized agent and shown on entry

application and livestock must be owned 30 days before the Fair opens.2. No premium money will be paid on discretionary exhibit.3. Judges will not award animal or article a premium unless in their judgment it is entitled to the premium awarded.4. No animals or articles shall be removed from the grounds before the time appointed, the last day of the Fair, without con-

sent of the President. Any violation of this rule incurs a forfeit of any or all premiums that may be awarded on the animal or article removed.

5. Any animal that is determined to be unmanageable, or could be a safety hazard to the public, may be removed from the Fairgrounds after consultation with the representation from the Show Committee, Ag Society (Fair Board) President and Extension 4H staff. The determined ruling will be final.

6. Every possible precaution will be taken for the safekeeping of articles on exhibition after their arrival and arrangement, but the society will not be responsible for any damages or losses that may occur.

7. All articles must be marked by cards furnished by the secretary designating class and number. These cards must not be removed until the close of the Fair.

8. All entries must be made in strict compliance with premium lists and awards made in accordance. Parties must therefore take pains to have stock and articles just as they want them.

9. Superintendents will go over and verify their work with the secretary’s office and hand in their books.10. Animals entered as purebreds must be eligible to registry. In livestock classes, the animals shown shall have been the

property of the exhibitor at least thirty days prior to the opening of the Fair.11. Exhibitors are requested to carefully read these rules and get blank applications for entry.12. Those who wish to promote their political philosophy or specific point of view may rent a booth and provide material from

the booth but may not promote their political view or philosophy outside of their booth or on the fairgrounds in general.13. FFA and 4-H. No more than the assigned number of livestock can be entered. 14. No vehicle parking or unloading after 6 p.m. Friday in center road of fairgrounds.

SANITARY REGULATIONS 15. All buildings, stalls and pens containing livestock will be disinfected under competent supervision previous to the opening

of the Fair.

DECORATE A WHISKEY BARRELDecorate and/or plant flowers of your choice in a half whiskey barrel that will be provided by the fairboard. The whiskey barrels will then be placed around the fairgrounds, according to your request for full sunlight, partial shade, or full shade, for all spectators to enjoy.

1. Barrels are available for pickup after April 1 if you choose to transport the entire barrel. You may also purchase or borrow a 7 inch liner that fits in the whiskey barrel from the fairboard, making transportation much easier. If you purchase the liner, you may take your display home with you after the fair. If you choose to borrow a liner or plant the barrel, they are on loan and will be retained as fairboard property after the fair.

2. You may plant the barrel or liner anytime after April and may use them around your home or business until the fair. The barrels and/or liners must be delivered to the fair grounds on Friday between Noon and 8:00 pm along with an entry form from the fair website.

3. A panel of three judges will judge the barrels on Saturday morning. Ribbons will be awarded along with $100 for first place, $50 for second, and $25 for third place. The top three will have bragging rights until the next fair and winners will be announced during evening activities.

CLASS B - OPEN CLASS PET STOCKRobert & Josey Stoddard & Chelsea Lambert, Co-SuperintendentsIn order to simplify entering and judging, follow rules and regulations for 4-H. Premiums will be paid as follows: blue, red and white in both poultry and rabbit classes. Open-class poultry and rabbit entries may go home post-show or stay for the duration of the fair. Those that stay for the duration of the fair will be released at 7 a.m. on Wednesday.PoultryThe open class poultry show will begin after the 4-H poultry show on Saturday, July 31 is completed. Open class poultry must be entered Friday by 6 pm. Exhibitors must be by the cage to receive their premium. Limit of 3 birds per exhibitor. Rabbits The open class rabbit show will begin after the 4-H rabbit show on Saturday, July 31 is completed. Open class rabbits must be entered Saturday by noon, but may be brought on Friday. The first two classes will be divided by approximate weight of the rabbit, and will be judged according to the American Rabbit Breeders As-sociation (ARBA) Standard of Perfection by individual breed. A rabbit can only be shown once with exception to costume class. Limit of 3 rabbits per exhibitor. Classes:1. Small Rabbit (Under 14 pounds)2. Large Rabbit (Over 14 pounds)3. Pet class4. Costume class5. Doe & Litter CatThe open class cat show will begin after the 4-H cat show which is held at Tuesday, Aug 3 at 1:30 pm. Open class cats must be checked in by noon. Cats must be in a carrier with food, water, and a litter box. All cats must have current rabies and distemper immunizations. Kittens must have distemper immunizations and be at least 4 months in age. The cats will be judged on quality of health, and exhibitors may be asked questions about the animal’s breed, diet, play/exercise and grooming practices. Limit of two (2) cats per exhibitor.Classes:1. Long Hair Cat Quality2. Short Hair Cat Quality3. Costume class

Small AnimalThe open class small animal show will begin after the 4-H Cat & Companion animal show which is held Tues-day, August 3rd at 1:30 pm. Small animals must be checked in by noon. The class will be only for exhibitors of ferrets, chinchillas, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, mice, rats, hedge hogs, reptiles, amphibians and birds. The animals will need to be in an enclosure suitable for their species. Limit of two (2) small animals per exhibitor.

Health Requirements: An exhibit is composed of the animal and the cage, tank or other containment facility which must be provided by the exhibitor. No animal with babies will be allowed. All ferrets must be vaccinated for rabies and have a completed health form signed by the administering veterinarian submitted with registra-tion information.

Minimum age of animals to be shown: (All animals must be weaned prior to show). Ferrets: 4 months Chinchillas: 7 weeks Guinea Pigs: 4 weeks Gerbils, hamsters, mice, rats: 4 weeks Hedgehogs: 5 weeks

All agricultural entries must be grown in Washington County.2. All Items must be harvested since last year’s fair ended, or grown in the current season.3. Display entries according to instruction in the 4-H Guide “Selecting and Preparing Vegetables Herbs and Fruits for Exhibits” 4H-226 (revised June 2013). 4. Vegetables will be judged for the stage of maturity normal for that season and growing location. Emphasis will be placed on how well the vegetable approaches market quality. 5. All entries from Class E are eligible to compete for Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Awards at the Judge’s discretion.6. Exhibitors displaying more than 20 entries must pre-register their entries by Friday at 6:00 p.m.7. Any entry that does not meet the above requirements may be displayed if space allows, but the entry will not be judged.

LOT 20 JR. DIVISION BAKED FOODSAll entry sheets must be entered by 9:00 p.m. on Friday. This includes baked goods, fruits, vegetables, jams, jellies, butters and all pickles and relishes. Pick Up Day -- TUESDAY from 10 am - 5 pm.1. All entries except the baked items must be brought between 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Friday. Baked items must be brought by 8 a.m. on Saturday.2. All baking will be cut in half before awarding premiums.

A portion will be kept for display. The remainder is to be picked up by the exhibitor before 6:00 p.m. on Saturday except cookies; these will be put out for treats for fair at-tendees.
