Mon 1st August: Celebrating Hump with The Humphrey Lyttelton Band + Laura Jurd Quintet ft. Mick Foster Humph’s original band perform in tribute to the much loved British trumpeter, broadcaster, comedy host and oddly progressive swing veteran, who sadly died in 2008. Trumpeter Jurd draws on classical, jazz and folk influences. + LATE LATE SHOW .... STEVE FISHWICK & QUENTIN COLLINS Tue 2nd August: The Michael Garrick Big Band + John Etheridge / Christian Garrick One of British jazz’s key figures -pianist, bandleader and composer Garrick with top-notch big band playing opposite world-class virtuoso guitarist Etheridge with violinist Christian Garrick. + LATE LATE SHOW .... ZHENYA STRIGALEV Wed 3rd August: Beats and Pieces + Kairos 4Tet 14 piece contemporary jazz ensemble drawing on Loose Tubes, Radiohead, Matthew Herbert and more, in an adventurous, redefinition of a big band’s possibilities. LEON GREENING Thu 4th August: Claire Martin / Sir Richard Rodney Bennett + Bobby Wellins Quartet Sophisticated, top-drawer vocal duo featuring peerless jazz singer Martin, and hugely gifted composer, pianist and knight of the realm, Bennett. Opposite classy Scottish saxophonist Bobby Wellins. + LATE LATE SHOW .... JIM HART AND LEWIS WRIGHT Fri 5th August: Lucinda Belle Orchestra + Earl Okin Harpist and singer-songwriter who draws on rootsy, folk, soul, world, classical and jazz influences Opposite cult British comedian, singer and song-writer Okin. Sat 6th August: Big Chris Barber Band + Andy Davies Quintet Trombonist Chris Barber is one of the major figures of the British Trad revival of 50’s - early 60’s and has been a household name ever since.
