Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD) is a condition in which the arteries that carry blood to the arms and legs become narrowed or clogged, slowing or stopping blood flow and caused by atherosclerosis or “hardening of the arteries.” PVD is a leading cause of disability among people 50 years of age and older and in those with Diabetes. The most common symptom of PVD is pain in the leg or the hip, particularly when walking. Join Dr. Astra as he explains the causes, symptoms, treatments and prevention of PVD.

The Ankle Brachial Pressure Index Screening can identify the presence of PVD in asymptomatic patients and will be available BY APPOINTMENT ONLY in the morning, before the lecture begins.
