Did You Know? All-Star Game Version

July is very busy for Major League Baseball! Here are some awesome facts to know about the All-Star break events taking place from July 13 to July 16. We hope to see some of the Blue Jays take part in the festivities.

On July 14, the MLB All-Star Game will take place at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The first MLB All-Star Game was 86 years ago in Chicago. WOW! During the 1933 game, Babe Ruth hit the first homerun in All-Star Game history.

One team represents the National League and the opposing team represents the American League, which is where you will hopefully see some of your favourite Blue Jays players!

The stakes are high because the winning team of the All-Star Game gets home field advantage during the World Series®.

During the MLB All-Star break there are tons of other events in addition to the All-Star Game including the Home Run Derby, the All-Star Futures Game and the All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game.

Jose Bautista has appeared in the All-Star Home Run Derby three different times. Other Blue Jays who have recently made appearances in the Derby include Edwin Encarnacion and Josh Donaldson.
