BEST WISHES TO FLYNN’S
Dick & Belva Flynn are moving to Minnesota.
They will be honored with cake and coffee during
Fellowship on June 30/DL.
We will miss you and thank you for all you
have done for our church.
May God Bless you in the future.
THE FUTURE OF DALLAS CHURCH These are the list of questions compiled.
The council is working on prioritizing and addressing.
FUNDS
1. * Let’s use the Noisy Offering for Elle Mark? 2. Fundraiser Idea: have Elle’s condition-what support she has given to the
church printed in area churches bulletins in Barron. School District or local area. The following week with High School students who know her say something special and pass collection plates. Send to Dallas Lutheran that week and make sure to tell who to make checks out to.
3. Suppers-pot luck donations-once a month. Gift Baskets-Silent Auction items. Give away at the end of the month & have on display all month.
4. * Why do newsletter have to be emailed, printed and mailed? 5. * Should explain how things are paid for like last week and in newsletter. 6. + Do we need land on north side of church? Can it be sold? 7. + Who did the grant writing and have they been thanked for it. 8. What would happen to the building?
WORSHIP
1. * Why is it that 3 hymnals or song books are not enough to sing from? Now we are also using songs from the ELW book. Most of the songs in the book “With One Voice” nobody can sing along as the music is so hard to follow. We have noticed that most people just put the book down and wait for the song to be done. What ever happened to singing songs that we are familiar with?
2. * I hate to see our church stand along and empty. Why are we having fill-in pastors when we have members willing to serve?
VISION
1. What do you expect from the church? What role does it play in your life? What are you willing to do to make sure it remains open? If it closes where would you go?
2. We are all members of this great Church Family and we all need to encourage others to join our family.
*Council addressed + Being worked on
7
3. This will need everyone to work at growing our church.
DALLAS COMMUNITY
1. + What about all the unchurched elderly people?
2. Family Dinner night at church and in the community or elderly?
3. * Are other churches in the area suffering? Could we join together. Our church is in a nice location and
we can handle large groups. I personally pray for the church and Council.
4. * Is it time to have a conversation with Ridgeland Church?
5. I think the church is important in the community. How do we meet the needs for that and draw the
community into the church?
6. + It seems to be a lot of youth in Dallas and don’t have any church affiliation.
7. Why is it necessary to go to California for a mission trip when we have the same needs in our own
community?
