Bring your family and friends. Child care will be provided and refreshments will be served. Making appointments helps improve donor flow. Three easy ways to make ap-pointments are as follows:

1) Visit www.redcrossblood.org and key in zip code 23321 2) Send e-mail to: [email protected] 3) Call Jim at: 441-6717

We invite All Donors and encourage more First Time Donors. Walk - ins are always wel-come. The least-busiest time slots are usually after 10:00 a.m.

We are planning to collect Whole Blood Units and Double Red Cell Units during this Blood Drive.

The Mission Committee is very interested in combining Blood Drives with other church activities on these future dates:

-- October 4

-- December 13

Did You Know?

Each blood donation can benefit as many as three hospital patients!

Aldersgate in Mission

5,000 Units Collected ... another Huge Blood Drive Milestone!

We helped the American Red Cross collect the 5,000th unit at Aldersgate on Saturday, June 7. The lucky donor is Bob Yates, a member of St. Therese Catholic Church. We surprised him with “thank you” gifts and invited him back to Aldersgate. Special Recognition also goes to Rick Sta-pleton here at Aldersgate for donating the 4,999th unit ... he was THAT close! Each unit collected can benefit as many as three patients. That means that this tre-mendous Mission Outreach program has helped give back the community benefiting as many as 15,000 hospital patients in the Mid-Atlantic Region. The Mission Committee sincerely thanks hundreds of donors plus dozens of volun-teers who routinely make advance tele-phone calls and help staff these blood drives every eight weeks. We routinely re-ceive high praise and wonderful compli-ments from regular donors who continually prefer to donate at Aldersgate. We enjoy a tremendous fellowship and community awareness through this program delivering great benefits for those in need. When you would like to become a volun-teer member of our Blood Drive Team, or like more information about becoming a donor, please contact Laura Beth, Karen, or Jim Stricker at [email protected] or call 465-3803.

Rotation Sunday School Update . . .

The first Rotation Sunday School summer ses-sion is for five weeks starting July 6 through Au-gust 3. The subject is Creation.

The second summer session will run for four weeks. It will start on August 10 and finish on Au-gust 31.

We welcome volunteers who are willing to sub-stitute as Teachers and Shepherds during the sum-mer months.

Rotation Sunday school is hoping that someone will volunteer to teach Masterpiece Theatre in the fall. You get to eat popcorn!! Cliff Carlson has been teaching one session of Masterpiece for many years and we appreciate his time and effort.

Also, we are looking for a fifth grade shepherd to start in the fall. Rebecca Carlson has been a 5th grade shepherd just as long as her husband has been teaching. Thanks to Rebecca for all of her time and effort. Please prayerfully consider helping with this wonderful program. Our children need you.

Our Promotion Sunday will be held on Septem-ber 7 in the Fellowship Hall from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m.

Living where we do, we have the opportunity to enjoy many beaches and shorelines wheth-er the ocean, bay, or creek. Many of us em-brace the water by spending our vacations there this time of the year.

Jesus and his disciples spent much time at the shore. Many of them were watermen -- and many Gospel lessons were taught in view of the water. This sermon series will take our spirits to the beach meet Jesus there!

Why not invite a friend to attend with you!
