The department of Information

Technology in MAMCET was on track in the year 2008 with the intake of 60. The department has highly qualified, experienced and eminent faculty members who are continuously supporting in teaching and in departmental activities. Our IT students are regular university rank holders. It has produced five batches of passed out students and many of our students are well placed in top MNCs.

The Department of IT organized a Guest Lecture for the final year students of IT titled "Cryptography and Network Security" on 13.07.18. The resource person was Dr. K. Mani,

Associate Professor from Nehru Memorial College.

Another Guest Lecture on "Data Structures” was planned for II year IT Students on 07/07/2018. Mrs.S.Annie Joice, Assistant Professor, Government Engineering College,

Srirangam addressed the gathering.

VELMURUGAN INDUSTRIES

Our Faculty members Mr.Syed Abdul Salam HOD/IT and Mrs.Nisha Innola AP/IT visited Velmurugan Heavy Engineering Industries Pvt. Ltd., Trichy on 27.06.18 for undertaking

projects.

Two problems were identified and the project got approved

from the industry.

A sensor based project for detection of objects in the industry for the safety of the workers. This can prevent accidents in the industry in case any heavy objects come in

contact with the workers.

Another project is stock Management system where the stock maintenance system needs to be fully automated for easy application of the

employees.

Our Faculty members are working on these projects to give a better result.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

YUVA - A student wing of Young Indians signed MoU with MASTeR Group of Institutions on 24.07.18.

40 Students from II & III year IT are part of the wing. Of those 15 students from II & III year IT went on a Industrial Visit to AMMAN TRY COMPANY on 27.07.18.

It’s Time to Learn and Teach

Mr. Arun Pandian, AP/IT conducted Faculty Development

Programme at Kumaran Polytechnic College, in Thiruvannamalai on

13.07.18. He handled sessions on Artificial Intelligence, Machine

Learning, Deep Learning and their real time applications. He also

trained faculty members in Python Basics.

He conducted a Workshop on the topic "An Introduction to Artificial Intelligence" on 12.07.18. 70 students from various departments participated in this workshop.

He also attended the "AI and Deep Learning Workshop" at Madanapalle Institute of Technology and Science, Chithoor (Dt), Andhra Pradesh, from 21.06.18 to 23.06.18.

MOU Signing With CodeTantra

CodeTantra is an interactive learning software solutions, which

enable engineering students across the globe to learn and master

the latest IT technologies. It has made available an award winning i-

Learning system (interactive learning) platform which is cloud-

hosted and accessible from any internet enabled PC to our students.

Our Head Director Dr. M. A. Maluk Mohamed and CodeTantra

Tech Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad CEO Mr. TSV Ramana

exchanged MoU papers on 10th May 2018. Mrs.A.Arthi AP/IT is

nominated as a SPOC in the college for CodeTantra.

CodeTantra's Induction Program on JAVA

Ms. Gayathri J Shankar, Associate Vice President, CodeTantra

Tech Solutions Pvt. Ltd. conducted an "Orientation Program on

JAVA" to the faculty members from the department of IT on 27.06.18.

The program was inaugurated by Dr. Rajasekar, Dean - Admin and

Dr.B. Annette, Dean - MASTeR Skill Development Institute.

FDP ON TEACHING PEDAGOGY

Mr. Roy Antony Arnold George Charles, Lead, Infosys Campus Connect Program, Infosys Ltd., Chennai gave away a session on pedagogy for the faculty members on 30.06.18. Mr.V.PraveenKumar AP/IT, MrJ.Arun Pandian AP/IT and Mrs.P.SathyaBama AP/IT attended the session. He gave insights on the psychological aspects of

AT IEI TRICHY LOCAL CHAPTER

Faculty Members and students from the department IT attended a Guest Lecture on the topic "Social Network Analysis" given by Er. R. Kavitha on 10.07.18 at BHEL, Trichy.

UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAN PROGRAM OF MHRD

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is a flagship programme of the Ministry of

Human Resources Development, with the intention to enrich Rural India.

The knowledge base and resources of the Premier Institutions of the

country are to be leveraged to bring in transformational change in rural

developmental process.

It also aims to create a vibrant relationship between the society

and the higher educational institutes, with the latter providing the

knowledge and technology support to improve the livelihoods in rural

areas and to upgrade the capabilities of both the public and private

organizations in the society.

As a part of this scheme, Mrs. S. Kavitha, Assistant Professor,

Department of ECE and Mr.Praveen Kumar, Assistant Professor,

Department of IT had meeting with Siruganur Panchayat Secretary Mr.

Sathish Kumar on 30.07.18. and collected the village details.

Mr. S. DevPrasath, IV year student from the department of IT has been selected for 6 months internship at Monitpro Solutions Private Limited, Trichy.

Code Vita Coding Contest

TCS Code Vita Season 7 Mock Test scheduled on 20.07.18 for 24 hours from 6 PM onwards by TCS Campus Connect. Around 220 students from the departments of CSE, IT & ECE attended the Mock Test under the guidance of the faculty Mrs.Nisha Innola.L.X AP/IT and Mr.J.ArunPandianAP/IT.
