PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE & LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

GOING FORTH TO MINISTER *CLOSING HYMN “Here I Am Lord” [525] *BENEDICTION *SUNG BLESSING [345 v.5]

Breathe through the heats of our desire Thy coolness and Thy balm;

Let sense be dumb, let flesh retire; Speak through the earthquake, wind and fire,

O still, small voice of calm, O still small voice of calm

POSTLUDE Alejandro Alumbreros

GATHERING WITH PRAISE PRELUDE Alejandro Alumbreros

FIRST THOUGHT One of the most sincere forms of respect is actually listening to what another has to say.

Bryant McGill One: The Lord be with you. All: And also with you. CALL TO WORSHIP One: God whispers to each of us, “You are my beloved” All: Speak God, for we are listening for Your Word One: God whispers, calling us to follow All: Speak God, give us courage to do Your will One: God whispers, to young and to old All: Speak God, enable us to catch a vision of a new world One: God whispers, and we respond by coming here to listen and to worship. *HYMN “God, You Spin The Whirling Planets ” [285] *PRAYER OF THE DAY WELCOME CALL TO CONFESSION PRAYER OF CONFESSION Mary Soley Dear God, You are the still small voice speaking to us. We confess that we are too busy and too distracted to listen. From You come the words that give us life and peace, but we have been deaf to these words and missed the blessings and comfort they bring. You call out to us and yet we ignore You and fear the demands of Your call will cost us more than we are willing to give. Open our ears this day, that we may hear You. Open our hearts that we may love as You love us. Open our lives to the healing power of Your forgiveness so that we may know Your peace that passes all understanding. Amen (Let us continue to pray in silence.)

ASSURANCE OF PARDON One: Friends, hear the good news of the Gospel. All: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven *ACT OF PRAISE [345, V.4]

Drop Thy still dews of quietness, Till all our strivings cease;

Take from our souls the strain and stress, And let our ordered lives confess

The beauty of Thy peace, the beauty of Thy peace.

CHAPEL ART: The Chapel Art Exhibits needs YOU. Every summer for the past six years we have put on two Chapel Art Exhibits during the summer months to show the many who come and visit us during Music & More that First Presbyterian has exceptional visual arts as well as sub-lime music, outreach and worship. But this year we have only HALF a SHOW in our Chapel - what we have is lovely, but incomplete. So, please bring some of your creative work to hang or dis-play. It doesn't need to be for sale. But it can be. You need to mark it clearly with the name of the person who made it and contact information, the title of the piece, the materials used and the price, if it is for sale. Interested: Please contact Ellen R. Cardwell. Chapel Arts Coordinator, 262-456-6336.

PRAYERS FOR THE CHURCH FAMILY: Let us pray for Leah Fisher, Vic Schubert, Annette Anderson, Larry Cardwell, Ed and Diane Lehmann, Marilyn MacCaughey, Barb Rowe, Maggie Seater, Myron Stahl, Nancy To-bias, Marlene Wilson, Beth Elzinga, and Vivian Clark.
