In the months after the earthquake Dorrisaint’s daughter Adianne became very ill, so Operation Blessing flew her for vital medical treatment in the US. Once back home the family had to relocaterelocate to Port Au Prince for Adianne to continue her treatment.

Dorrisaint needed to find work to support her family and Operation Blessing gave her the opportunity to work making this beautiful jewellery. She has already made some stunning pieces. AdianneAdianne is now much stronger and able to go to school, thanks to the money that Dorrisaint is making.

DORRISAINT’S STORY

HOPE FROM HAITIHelp change lives and be blessed with a beautiful and unique piece of jewellery – hand-made in Haiti with love !

AlthoughAlthough the Haitian earthquake had devastated homes and businesses throughout Port-Au-Prince, out of the rubble rose hope, initiative and strength. With help from Operation Blessing, a group of single mums – most of whom had lost their homes in the earthquake – met together to change their circumstances.together to change their circumstances.

Now, five days a week, these ladies meet to create beautiful necklaces and bracelets to sell in their local community and in boutiques in parts of the US and Australia. Each piece of jewellery is lovingly handcrafted from recycled materials and strung together with colourful glass beads andand semi precious stones. Every one is totally unique and comes with a tag bearing the name, photo and story of the inspiring lady that made it.

OPERATION BLESSING – is still very present in Haiti while many other relief organisations have left. For more information on our continuing work visit our website.
