Organization (SLAO)
Thanks for another Amazing Year in SLAO!
The Student Leadership & Activities Organization would like to thank the Texas State Round Rock community for another amazing year. During the 2014-2015 school year, SLAO organized and/or participated in on-campus activities such as: Bobcat Days, Student Organization Open House, Job & Vendor Fair, Bake Sale & Trade-Up Days, Socks & Boxers Drive, Veteran's Appreciation Din-ner, Project Angel Tree, Coats for Kids, as well as the American Heart Association Heart Walk. SLAO also had a lot of FUN during our Linked-In Workshop, Hot Cocoa & Cookies Social, P3 (Pizza, Popcorn, & Pop), and Bingo Night social events.
We are currently planning activities for the 2015-2016 school year and would love to have you as a member! Benefits of becoming involved in SLAO include gaining leadership experience, many opportunities for faculty/staff/student networking, the ability to impact the Round Rock community through service projects, re-sume building, and life-long friendships.

1098 - T Forms Available Online
We will no longer mail paper 1098-T forms. This information will be
available to students no later than February 1 following each tax year.
Two options are available to view or print your 1098-T form and
financial addendum:
1) Tax Credit Reporting Service website: https://www.1098T.com or
2) Texas State Self-Service website at https://ssb.txstate.edu/

Teacher Certification Exam Information Texas law requires every person seeking educator certification to
perform satisfactorily on comprehensive exams. The purpose of
these exams is to ensure that each educator has the necessary
content and professional knowledge to perform effectively in Texas
public schools. For information about the policies, test dates/
deadlines, practice tests and reviews, study guides, and registration
for the exam go to http://education.txstate.edu/oep and click on the
appropriate tab at the top of the page.
Teacher Recruitment Program The Teacher Recruitment Program (TRP) is designed for mid-career
adults who hold a baccalaureate degree and desire an accelerated
program to attain teacher certification. The deadline for Spring 2016 is
September 1, 2015. Information and applications are available online

Comprehensive Exam for Students Seeking a Master’s
Degree in Elementary or Secondary Education Who Are
Graduating in August
The summer comprehensive exam is scheduled for July 3, 2015.

VETERAN AFFAIRS • ***VA Certification Process*** In an effort to reduce paper
consumption, the Texas State VA Office is no longer accepting
paper documents. Students must now use the VA Certification
Request Application. Please be prepared to upload all required
documents directly into Texas State’s secure document man-
agement system at the end of your application. Be sure to sub-
mit an application for EACH semester in which you have regis-
tered along with your most recent COE. For more information
