Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence Peoples CEO Morgan O’Brien recently joined regional business leaders in supporting the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence Father’s Day Pledge Against Gender Violence.
Domestic violence is a pervasive and life threatening crime that affects millions of people across our nation. The first National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey in 2012 found that more than 1 in 3 women and more than 1 in 4 men in the United States have experienced rape, physical violence or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime. Among states, Pennsylvania ranked 15th in the U.S. in terms of violence against women, and ranked 25th in violence against men.
O’Brien’s signature will appear in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in June in an advertisement that will demonstrate a unified group of Pennsylvania leaders taking a stand against domestic violence. Peoples is proud to support PCADV in this endeavor.
Join Peoples at the following events to support the pledge:
• 4:05 p.m., June 4, Pirates game versus Angels,PNC Park: Join the Pirates as they say NO MOREto Domestic Violence in partnership with PCADV.
• Noon, June 17, Allegheny County CourthouseCourtyard, downtown: Join corporate, community, nonprofit, government and faith leaders in taking theFather’s Day Pledge to say NO MORE to domesticand sexual violence with PCADV.
Anyone can make the pledge, and we urge Peoples customers to join in this important cause today. Visit http://www.pasaysnomore.com tosign the pledge with your family and say NO MORE to domestic violence.
COMMUNITYPeoples’ mission is to make the lives of our customers better. That’s why we invest heavily in our community, by supporting charities and programs from youth sports to the big leagues. That’s also why our employees spend hundreds of hours volunteering, raising funds, and boosting awareness for causes large and small.
