An Emerging Threat to America

June 25th of this year will mark the 67th anniversary of the North Korean invasion of South Korea that resulted in a bloody three year conflict that killed over 50,000 Americans and about 2 million Koreans. Another war on the Korean Peninsula will result in many millions more killed on both sides and quite possibly involve for the first time since WWII, an attack on the American homeland. A nuclear strike on American territory is increasingly probable. Today, the sound of war drums is increasing as North Korea obstinately refuses to comply with United Nations resolutions to halt their nuclear weapons and missile programs despite heavy sanctions. Last year the American Commander of Pacific military forces said that the imposition of sanctions to force the North Koreans to comply with UN sanctions is a failure, that the North is determined to develop an offensive nuclear weapons capability and only military force and regime change will halt the North’s program. Over twenty years of negotiations, sanctions, bribes and bargaining by the United States and nations of the region has failed. The northern tyrant is single-minded in a relentless pursuit of weapons of mass destruction and continues putting most of their national budget into building ever-increasing offensive military capabilities, including nuclear weapons. Since the armistice that halted fighting at the 38th Parallel in July 1953 but leaving a continued state of war along the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), North Korea has presented only absolute hostility towards South Korea, the West and especially the United States. Most Americans are surprised to learn that firefights between North Korean combat patrols and U.S./South Korean forces enforcing the armistice in the DMZ still occur frequently. Over the years the North has deliberately initiated major incidents to provoke a crisis, such as the seizure of the USS Pueblo and its crew in January, 1968; shooting down an unarmed American Reconnaissance aircraft over international waters, killing all 31 Americans aboard in 1969 (my former squadron), butchering American officers on the International Bridge in 1977 and a host of other belligerent acts without let-up. The North assassinates high-level South Korean officials, periodically attacks South Korean military units and keeps 70% of its military on a hair-trigger alert, poised just an hour from the South Korean border. The DMZ is the most heavily fortified border in the world with most of the North’s 10,000 artillery systems aimed at Seoul, the South Korean Capitol and its 25 million civilian inhabitants, comprising roughly half of South Korea’s population. The north has built underground airfields in the sides of mountains, constructed untold numbers of tunnels beneath the DMZ into the South to facilitate invasion and maintains an active army of over a million men with another 7 million in various states of readiness in its reserves. The north also maintains a massive stockpile of chemical and biological weapons, even though they’ve been outlawed by the UN for decades; the United States destroyed its stockpiles in the 1990’s. Western security analysts and military leaders dread a renewed conflict in Korea for all of the reasons stated above, hoping that sanctions, when combined with incentives, will soften the Northern leadership’s stance and re-enter the international community without war. It’s not to be. The current leader, Kim Jong Un, is worse than either his father or grandfather, utterly ruthless and willing to kill without hesitation, including half of his own people, kept in a state of perpetual starvation (blamed upon the West). They’re indoctrinated 24-hours daily about the “Dear Leader’s” exploits and efforts to serve his people. The North Koreans live in a national religious cult as much as a closed political system, tyrannical beyond the comprehension of most Americans. Today we are faced with an emerging North Korean nuclear threat that will likely materialize by the end of this decade, making North Korean conquest of the South a near certainty with the ability of America to come to their aid uncertain. The long-range missile threat to America is real and will initially threaten Guam, Hawaii and the west coast of the American continent and eventually every major US city. Their weapons will deploy large, likely thermonuclear warheads due to questionable accuracy of their missiles. Our anti-ballistic missile systems are limited in quantity and capability due to intransience of Progressive, liberal politicians that have steadfastly put their faith in treaties with tyrants rather than a robust missile defense system. Progressives have also significantly drawn down our nuclear deterrent forces to a bare minimum based upon deterrence of a rational Soviet (Russian) or Chinese leadership. While hatred of the current U.S. President dominates headlines, the real threat to our liberty, even national survival comes closer each day to deploying a capability to destroy our homeland and all the unfulfilled dreams of America’s children. Al Fonzi - Atascadero News Article, 19 May 2017

AHCA: Americans Must Choose Between Socialism and Liberty Louis DeBroux · Patriot Post, May 10, 2017 (Partially abridged by the Editor for brevity) Is America on the road to socialized health care? Perhaps — because the Democrats changed the debate.

Is America on the road to socialized health care? According to conservative pundit Dr. Charles Krauthammer, we are. But what prompted such a claim, at a time when President Donald Trump sits in the White House, and with a Republican-controlled House and Senate?

Speaking on the GOP’s ObamaCare repeal-and-replace bill, Krauthammer said, “Look at the terms of the debate. Republicans are not arguing the free market anymore. They have sort of accepted the fact that the electorate sees health care as not just any commodity. …

It is something people now have a sense that government ought to guarantee. … The terms of debate are entirely on the grounds of the liberal argument that everybody ought to have it. Once that happens, you’re going to end up with a single-payer [system].” To be sure, the American Health Care Act (AHCA) is not, in this first iteration, the patient-centered, free market-driven bill so many conservatives dreamed of for the last eight years. Part of the reason is procedural. On the first pass, the bill must concentrate only on the taxing and spending provisions in order to qualify for passage under reconciliation. The other reason is political, and that is the much harder obstacle to overcome. Much like the early days of the Tea Party, where rally-goers waved signs demanding government reduce spending, lower taxes and stay out of health care (but leave Medicare alone!), Republican lawmakers are today hearing from constituents demanding a full and complete repeal of ObamaCare … so long as the GOP leaves in place provisions concerning pre-existing conditions keeping 26-year-old “children” on parents' policies. This is what Krauthammer is referring to. ObamaCare has never once enjoyed majority support of the American people. However, millions of Americans are demanding Republicans retain some of the very provisions that bankrupted more than three-quarters of ObamaCare co-ops, which drove premiums, deductibles and co-pays through the roof, and which resulted in thousands of doctors refusing ObamaCare/Medicare/Medicaid coverage. But health care can’t be a right, because by definition it imposes an obligation on someone else. An author’s right to free speech does not obligate anyone to publish his thoughts, and our right to keep and bear arms does not obligate taxpayers to buy every citizen a gun. But a person’s “right” to health care does obligate health care professionals (even one with hundreds of thousands in medical school debt in need of repayment) to provide that patient with time and tools of the trade in order to address those medical needs, even if the patient can’t pay. But why, many conservative wonder, aren’t Republicans brave enough to force through a true, free market health care bill, now that they have the House, Senate and White House? Maybe because they see the character assassination being waged against them by Democrats and the media, and an insufficiently skeptical voting populace who accepts the most insane hyperbole as fact. Democrats and their media sycophants are filling the airwaves and the Internet with the most vile, hateful lies about the impact of the GOP’s American Health Care Act, claiming it will cause tens of millions of people to lose their health insurance (something ObamaCare already did), and that Republicans are sentencing fellow Americans to death. They claim the GOP bill will deny treatment to rape victims because it would consider rape a pre-existing condition, which is a damnable, disgusting lie. And yet far, far too many Americans blindly accept these lies as fact. Americans must realize that insurance is a mechanism for risk dispersal for unexpected occurrences. If you smoke three packs a day and are obese because of poor eating habits, then lung cancer and diabetes are not pre-existing conditions. They are inevitable consequences of stupidity and poor decision-making. Republicans should show moral fortitude and stand up for the Constitution and the cause of Liberty. Americans must support, rather than attack, those who stand up for Liberty and personal responsibility. “Home of the free and land of the Brave.” –or not?

June Hypocrisy Heights and Liars Pavilion – Bob Martz Hypocrisy’s Pinnacle Puerto Rico convicted terrorist killer Oscar Lopez Rivera, unfortunately released from jail by Obama, was feted as a “Freedom Hero” by the Puerto Rico parade board in New York. Liar’s Pinnacle Jeff Mason, president of the White House Correspondents Association, did a masterful job of lying at the National Press Clubs annual dinner where Trump’s non-attendance was pilloried in every possible way. Mason’s rant declared Trump was attacking the basis of our Democracy, its freedom of speech and freedom of the press. He again miss-quoted Trump’s “Fake news being the enemy of the people” statement into “The press is the enemy of the people”. Lost in all of his dictatorial dissembling was that Trump has allowed far more press access than other prior president. Trump has had more interviews and more press conferences and allowed more reporters into the White House conferences than any predecessor. Mason should accept that Trump has “freedom of speech” rights as he strikes back against “fake news” attacks. Lastly, where was the White House press angst over real press attacks during the Obama’ s reign: like James Rosen’s illegal surveillance & cover-up, AP reporter secret surveillance, & hundreds of FOIA requests always blocked.

Remember The Real Russian Connections! Remember that time Donald Trump was paid $500,000 to give a speech in Moscow? Oh no, wait.. that was BILL CLINTON. Remember that time Trump failed to disclose Russian donors to his foundation before he served as Sec of State? Oh no, wait. that was HILLARY CLINTON Remember the time Trump was business partners with Russian gov’t? His company received $35M from Russia... oh no wait, that was JOHN PODESTA Remember the time Trump scored $145M from shareholders of a uranium company that was sold to the Russians? Oh no, wait... that was HILLARY CLINTON. Remember that time Donald Trump approved the sale of 20% of U.S. uranium to the Russians?! Oh no, wait... that was HILLARY CLINTON. So why are we still investigating President Trump & Russia colluding to steal the election? Especially after a year of CIA, FBI, NSA, & 2 Congressional investigations have found no evidence of any collusion. But wait; there is Washington Post’s new evidence of Russia stealing the election from Hillary involving Jared Kushner. Trump’s son-in-law supposedly was secretly colluding with the Russians using “back channel” communication links. The Washington Post “leak” intercept was based on a Trump Tower December meeting with Kushner & the Russians . Now consider the lunacy & idiocy of this charge and really who was committing a felony? The “scandalous” meeting occurred AFTER the election so collusion effecting the election is impossible. The surveilled meeting occurred in the TRUMP TOWER so Trump’s claim he was being surveilled was correct! The surveilled meeting “unmasked” a US citizen so a felony was committed by who leaked the info to the Post.

CBO Phony Prediction Performance They predicted 25 million would be enrolled in ObamaCare by 2016 but alas there was only 9 million. Now they predict 23 million will be uninsured with the Republican House health care plan. However they included those who CHOSE not to be insured & those that had “catastrophic insurance” that they decreed was unacceptable insurance.

More News & Fake News News: Portland, a deranged man verbally assailing two Muslim women stabbed to death two men helping the women. Fake News: Portland media reported that Trump’s hateful rhetoric had inspired a white supremacist to assail the women & kill the intervening two men. The Portland Mayor blamed the assault on the Alt-right following Trump’s hateful policies & recommended cancelling two previously allowed permits for the Conservative organization meetings. News: The deranged man, now in custody, was actually spouting hateful rhetoric against Jews, Christians, and Muslims amongst others and his Face Book page claimed support for Jill Stein and Bernie Sanders.

This Make You Sick or Scared? - Bob Martz Islamic terrorism and barbarity throughout dozens of countries around the world has been daily news for multiple decades. Yet almost all Western democracy political leaders continue to declare Islam a religion of peace and make noble and gratuitous speeches describing why they should accept more Muslim refugees into their respective country. The politicians proclaim “multiculturalism” as a force for good since no culture is any better than any other and that “diversity” strengthens a community. All of this cultural equality commentary is utter hogwash and the following survey of Muslim opinions should prove it. (Thanks to Tucker Carlson – Tonight, Fox News, 5-23-17, for the following data) Muslims in England that think suicide bombings are justified: 20% Young Muslims in US & Europe that think suicide bombings are justified: 20% - but in France 40% Muslims in France that think Sharia law is a higher law than French civil law: 29% Percent of Muslims in MUSLIM Countries that think suicide bombings are OK if it supports Islam: Bangladesh – 47%, Egypt – 25%, Turkey – 20% Percent of Muslims that think the DEATH PENALTY is justified for anyone who leaves Islam: Pakistan – 78%, Egypt – 86%, Afghanistan – 78%, Bangladesh – 44%, Iraq – 42% Therefore; unless the 20 to 40% to ? % of barbaric and deadly Muslims can be accurately identified and refused entry into a Western Democracy, the only rational none-suicidal refugee policy is to refuse immigration of them all.

Points to Ponder What Is Mine Is Not Yours - Dr. Walter Williams “But let me offer you my definition of social justice: I keep what I earn and you keep what you earn. Do you disagree? Well then tell me how much of what I earn belongs to you - and why?” “Democracy and liberty are not the same. Democracy is little more than mob rule, while liberty refers to the sovereignty of the individual.” “Prior to capitalism, the way people amassed great wealth was by looting, plundering and enslaving their fellow man. Capitalism made it possible to become wealthy by serving your fellow man.” PRESIDENT TRUMP’S SPEECH IN SAUDI ARABIA "This is not a battle between different faiths, different sects or different civilizations," Trump said. "This is a battle between barbaric criminals who seek to obliterate human life, and decent people of all religions who seek to protect it. This is a battle between good and evil." RONALD REAGAN “Government is like a baby: An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other.” The truthfulness of that statement may be nowhere more obvious than America’s entitlement programs. VICE PRESIDENT PENCE’S COMMENCEMENT SPEECH AT NOTRE DAME “While this institution has maintained an atmosphere of civility and open debate, far too many campuses across America have become characterized by speech codes, safe spaces, tone policing, administration sanctioned political correctness all of which amounts to the suppression of free speech. These practices are destructive of learning and the pursuit of knowledge.” (Editor’s Note: A few dozen students walked out & the remaining 31,000 booed those leaving.) Millennials Violently Uprising? Why are so many Millennials protesting at government buildings, on highways, on Campuses, & opposing “free speech” & other normal government & police policies? Brit Hume on Fox News blamed a combination of years of major media Liberal indoctrination and no comprehension of past American political history regarding the individual principles of freedom as established by the Founding Fathers. I think my wife, Jan Wolff, articulated a much better explanation, which follows. The Millennials have been indoctrinated by major media blogs & IT liberally slanted news for years as well as being told how important, cuddled, and deserving they are just because they exist. The major media and IT sources continually told them about the “wonders” achieved under the first black President’s reign & would gloriously continue under Hillary’s first woman presidency and no way could she lose to a block headed – bullying – hateful bombast like Trump. Then REALLITY STRUCK - Hillary lost and what does an immature child do when they think they got “CHEATED” - they strike back in anger and are easily manipulated as to where to direct their frustrated anger.

Playing Politics With the Constitution - by Madalyn McDaniel

With all the political shenanigans going on these days, this month for my constitution series, I will list some examples of political maneuvering that went on around the time our constitution was written. We are always told playing politics is nothing new, and in my research I have discovered that is certainly true. Bait and Switch In 1787 a Constitutional Convention was organized. Its advertised purpose was a revision of the Articles of Confederation. All 13 states had to agree to ratify an amendment to the Articles in order to revise it, and there was no way all 13 states would agree on anything. The Founders knew a revision would not solve the problems and deficiencies of the Articles of Confederation and they were determined to create a new constitution which would need only 9 states to ratify. Once the the delegates were together, the Federalists convinced enough of those present to re-write a new constitution, not revise the Articles. Delegates were told one thing to get them there: we are only going to make a few revisions. Then they were convinced to write an entirely new constitution once they had assembled. Delay Tactics Not every delegate attended every meeting every day. When a provision was up for a vote, if the Federalists knew a lot of their members would be absent that day, and they felt their item might not pass with those in the room, they would quickly move to adjourn for the day to delay the vote. And the Anti-Federalists did the same thing. Using the Media Back then, the Federalists had a huge majority of the “media” on their side and had the advantage of getting their favorable stories published. And publish they did, in the form of the 85 Federalist Papers. The Federalists had the media advantage and they used it to win. Co-opting the Opposition Anti-Federalists, especially in North Carolina and Rhode Island, opposed the Constitution because the there was no Bill of Rights stating specific rights the government could not take away from the individual. Federalists argued the new Constitution, alone, laying out checks and balances and divided government was sufficient to preserve liberty. However, as momentum in the country came down on the side of adding a Bill of Rights, the Federalists co-opted the argument. Suddenly the Federalists were all-in for adding a Bill of Rights, in fact, it was just another reason for reluctant states to jump on board and ratify the new Constitution. Getting Ahead of the News-Cycle Once the new Constitution was signed, there was still political maneuvering going on in order to get it ratified by the states. The Federalists lined up several states to vote early, states they knew would vote in favor of ratification. This maneuver gave the Federalists momentum with early wins and then they heavily advertised their successes in the friendly media. Federalists also sent out influential people, like the beloved George Washington, to personally lobby for votes in some of the states that were on the fence. After the Declaration of Independence, fighting the Revolutionary War was not the only thing the new U.S. citizens had to worry about. It is a miracle this country survived those 11 years under the Articles of Confederation until the new constitution was written. Next month I will cover some money, property, and tax issues that caused dissension among the people and states after 1776.

Free Speech – Cease or Become a Target of the Left

Citizen’s United Supreme Court ruling on January 23, 2010 threw out restrictive campaign finance laws and restored free speech for all. But in just a few months the Left and Obama found new ways to stifle, intimidate, harass, threaten, and crush free speech. Immediately after the Citizen’s United ruling, Obama gave speech after speech warning of “shadowy and scary organizations” that may be operating “illegally” and funded by “foreign players”. That was all IRS’s Lois Lerner and others needed to start blocking the fledgling Tea Party & other Conservative organizations trying to support Conservative issues and candidates. Over 400 Conservative organizations were denied the tax status preventing their proper participation in the 2010 & 2012 elections. Recall Romney was supposed to win in 2012. Editor’s note: How come those 400 Conservative organizations did not riot and claim a stolen election? Prosecutors in some states abused the law to intimidate voters as they did in Wisconsin with the bogus Jon Doe probe. Some 30 Conservative groups supporting Gov. Walker’s Public Union reforms were attacked, their financial records, bank accounts, and e-mails secretly reviewed. Even homes were raided and gag orders and jail time was threatened. Eric O’Keefe would not be intimidated and with the Wall Street Journal’s help exposed the prosecutorial abuse and the Wisconsin Supreme Court shut down the illegal probe. However, Attorney Generals from 17 states attacked Exxon and a 100 other groups with “racketeering” charges because they did not agree with the Obama Administration Climate Change agenda. Blackmail was used against some corporations and non-profits such as was used against the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) a non-profit organization that normally supports free market policies and funded by corporate donations. Because ALEC had tangentially supported a “stand-your-ground” law, they were labeled a racist organization after the Travon Martin shooting and they lost half of their corporate donors. The hateful attack was well coordinated as Democrat Senator Dick Durbin sent letters to thousands of companies demanding to know if they supported ALEC. California’s Proposition 8 supporters were found out from campaign finance records and these supporters had their cars keyed, windows broken, small businesses flash mobbed, and their voice mails and e-mail flooded with threats. The left continues to pursue more “open disclosure” laws under the guise of transparency and disclosure provides for a better government. However, their past record shows that if they can easily determine the names of their opponents, their real intent is to harass, intimidate, threaten, destroy, and pervert democracy. The editor thanks Kimberley Strassel, WSJ, and Hillsdale College, Imprimis, for the specifics used above.

Answer This Question!

In December 2016, polls showed 42% of Democrats were convinced that Russia had hacked the actual vote count changing the result in favor of Trump thus stealing the election rom Hillary. A new poll this May, from The Economist/YouGov, found that 59% of Democrats are definitely or probably convinced that Russian hacking actually changed the vote count denying Hillary the presidency. QUESTION: IS THIS ASTOUNDING BELIEF THE RESULT OF MAJOR MEDIA FAKE NEWS OR STUPID DEMOCRATS?

Seventeen Inches – By Chris Sperry

In 1996, Coach Scolinos, five years retired from a college coaching career , gave a presentation to over 4,000 baseball coaches at the 52nd annual ABCA's convention. He shuffled to the stage to an impressive standing ovation, but oddly had a string around his neck from which home plate hung — a full-sized, stark-white home plate. After speaking for twenty-five minutes, not once mentioning the prop hanging around his neck, he finally said: “You’re probably all wondering why I’m wearing home plate around my neck,” “I may be old, but I’m not crazy. The reason I stand before you today is to share with you baseball people what I’ve learned in my life, what I’ve learned about home plate in my 78 years.” Several hands went up when Scolinos asked how many Little League coaches were in the room. “Do you know how wide home plate is in Little League?” After a pause, someone offered, “Seventeen inches?”, more of a question than answer. “That’s right,” he said. “How about in Babe Ruth’s day? Any Babe Ruth coaches in the house?” Another long pause. “Seventeen inches?” a guess from another reluctant coach. “That’s right,”he said. “How many high school coaches do we have in the room?” Hundreds of hands shot up, as the pattern began to appear. “How wide is home plate in high school baseball?” “Seventeen inches,” they said, sounding more confident. “You’re right! And you college coaches, how wide is home plate in college?” “Seventeen inches!” we said, in unison. “Any Minor League coaches here? How wide is home plate in pro ball?” “Seventeen inches!”. “RIGHT! And in the Major Leagues, how wide home plate is in the Major Leagues? “Seventeen inches!” “SEV-EN-TEEN INCHES!” he confirmed, his voice bellowing off the walls. “And what do they do with a Big League pitcher who can’t throw the ball over seventeen inches?” Pause. “They send him to Pocatello !” he hollered, drawing raucous laughter. “What they don’t do is this: they don’t say, ‘Ah, that’s okay, Jimmy. If you can’t hit a seventeen-inch target? We’ll make it eighteen inches or nineteen inches. We’ll make it twenty inches so you have a better chance of hitting it. If you can’t hit that, let us know so we can make it wider still, say twenty-five inches.'” Pause. “Coaches… what do we do when your best player shows up late to practice? or when our team rules forbid facial hair and a guy shows up unshaven? What if he gets caught drinking? Do we hold him accountable? Or do we change the rules to fit him? Do we widen home plate? " The chuckles gradually faded as four thousand coaches grew quiet, the fog lifting as the old coach’s message began to unfold. He turned the plate toward himself and, using a Sharpie, began to draw something. When he turned it toward the crowd, point up, a house was revealed, complete with a freshly drawn door and two windows. “This is the problem in our homes today. With our marriages, with the way we parent our kids. With out discipline. We don’t teach accountability to our kids, and there is no consequence for failing to meet standards. We just widen the plate!” Then, to the point at the top of the house he added a small American flag. “This is the problem in our schools today. The quality of our education is going downhill fast and teachers have been stripped of the tools they need to educate and discipline our young people. We are allowing others to widen home plate! Where is that getting us?” He replaced the flag with a Cross. “And this is the problem in the Church, where powerful people in positions of authority have taken advantage of young children, only to have such an atrocity swept under the rug for years. Our church leaders are widening home plate for themselves! And we allow it.” “And the same is true with our government. Our so called representatives make rules for us that don’t apply to themselves. They take bribes from lobbyists and foreign countries. They no longer serve us. And we allow them to widen home plate! We see our country falling into a dark abyss while we just watch.” From an old man with home plate strung around his neck, I had learned something about life, about myself, about my own weaknesses and about my responsibilities as a leader. I had to hold myself and others accountable to that which I knew to be right, lest our families, our faith, and our society continue down an undesirable path. “If I am lucky,” Coach Scolinos concluded, “you will remember one thing from this old coach today. It is this: "If we fail to hold ourselves to a higher standard, a standard of what we know to be right; if we fail to hold our spouses and our children to the same standards, if we are unwilling or unable to provide a consequence when they do not meet the standard; and if our schools & churches & our government fail to hold themselves accountable to those they serve, there is but one thing to look forward to …”With that, he held home plate in front of his chest, turned it around, and revealed its dark black backside, “…We have dark days ahead!.” His message was clear: “Coaches, keep your players—your own children, your churches, your government, and most of all, keep yourself at seventeen inches." And this my friends is how to fix what is wrong with our country: "Don't widen the plate."
