Happy Succulents Succulents are hardy houseplants, but can fall victim to overwatering. Instead of using regular potting soil, plant succulents in a cactus soil mix, which will absorb water but dry quickly, keeping your plants perky. Travel Tip: Peruse the Paper The next time you travel to a different town, state or country, get hold of a local newspaper. You can find a wealth of information in print, including events taking place during your visit, such as concerts or festivals. You might also find coupons for local restaurants and boutiques. Give It Away If you have items you no longer want that could still be useful to someone, but you don’t want to try to sell them, consider offering the items on Freecycle.com or a Buy Nothing group on Facebook. Look through the “wants” of other members to find ideas for things you could get rid of. Knowing that someone else will put your stuff to good use just might motivate you to do that purge you’ve been putting off.
