FAITH FORMATION

RCIA—RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process

used for forming and welcoming adults who wish to be initiated into the Catholic Church or to simply learn more. If you have been thinking about becoming Catholic, have never been baptized, are a Catholic who still needs to receive the sacraments of First Communion and/or Confirmation, or are a practicing Catholic who wants to

learn more about their faith…then RCIA is for you! Meetings typically begin in September on Tuesday evenings. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Deacon Doyle Schulz at 223-0287 or email at [email protected].

FIRST FRIDAY FELLOWSHIP There will be no First Friday Fellowship on Friday, July 5th. We’ll see you back on Friday, August 2nd.

LET’S GET READY TO PICNIC! SILENT AUCTION ITEMS NEEDED Our annual parish picnic is right around the corner on July 24th and this year we are adding a SILENT AUCTION, along with a few other fun activities. We are looking for auction item donations. Some ideas include: - Restaurant Gift Cards - Business Services, such as Salon, Spa, Housecleaning, Lawn Care, etc. - Monetary Donations to Purchase Items - New Kitchen, Craft, School, Water Toys, Movies/Snacks, Make-up, Tools, etc. for baskets - And, any ideas you may have and would like to sponsor. Donations can be dropped at the parish office or call us for pick-up!

SERVING BOWLS, PLATES AND PANS

Our parishioners are so kind to provide salads and bars for the funeral luncheons held at our church. We thank you! Now it’s time for those containers to go to their rightful homes. If you would be so kind to stop at the parish office to pick up your dish, it would be so

appreciated. They are stored in the black cabinet in the closet area of the Community Room.

SACRED RELICS TOUR The University of Mary presents a teaching and exposition of Sacred Relics on Thursday, July 11th at 7:00 pm at the Lumen Vitae University Center. Father Carlos Martins of the Companions of the Cross will be here with a very special Vatican collection of over 150 relics, some as old as 2000 years Among the treasures will be relics of St Maria Goretti, St. Therese of Lisieux, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua, St. Thomas Aquinas, and St. Faustina Kowalska. In addition, there will also be present a portion of the veil of Our Lady, as well as one of the largest remaining pieces of the True Cross in the world. Those in attendance will be able to examine and venerate each relic. In the Church’s history many miracles and healings have been worked in the presence of relics, and many have been held through this ministry. Please do not miss this opportunity. You are encouraged to bring your articles of devotion (such as rosaries, holy cards, etc.) and pictures of ill friends/family members, which you will be able to touch to the reliquaries as a means of intercession.

We celebrate the life of Saint María Guadalupe

García Zavala during the month of June. She is noted for her compassion and care for the physical and spiritual

well-being of the sick in Mexico. For many years

she put her own life at risk to help others, even her

persecutors. Her feast day is June 24th.
