Too Much Money Mawmaw received a Neiman Marcus catalog in the mail the other day and she was talking about how high the prices were. I thought they can’t be that high, but then she gave me some ex- amples of how expensive these things were. I glanced through the catalog, and I had to pick my bottom jaw off the floor! Among some of the outlandish things I saw was the most expensive thing in the catalog, which was a bronze chain listed at $495. I told Mawmaw and Pawpaw I could go find a chain down at their building. In addition to that, I found a pair of shoes listed at $185. I thought to myself what a ripoff, because as you see in the picture the shoes had holes all in them. These people who buy these shoes are get- ting cheated because there are holes all in these shoes! Who wants to pay that much for shoes when about half of the material has been taken out?! A.M. Redemption 1 Pet. 1:18-19

P.M. Matt Yuhas

Hello All! I hope everyone has had a FANTASTIC week! We leave Sunday for MCC! If your child is riding the van, please have their stuff loaded BEFORE church Sunday morning! They will need money for lunch on the way there and on the way back. We will return sometime around 12:30 on Friday.

REMEMBER: No Pew Packers this week! :( Monday’s Words With the Rabbi Wednesday’s Ministry of a Meal Friday’s Secret Devo June 11-16 Maury Christian Camp

Vacation Bible School 2017

This year’s theme is Camping Through God’s Word. There

are sign up sheets in the Foyer hanging on clip boards for

teachers and craft teams. Each age group has 2 teachers and

2 helpers. Please sign up to teach or to work the craft

area; several positions still need filling. Thank you in

advance!

Do you ever wonder if Jesus looks at us and thinks he paid too much? He purchased us with His blood (Acts 20:28),

which was the best price of redemption for our sins, much more precious than perishable things like silver or gold (1

Pet. 1:18-19).

I very seriously doubt that the items listed in the Neiman Marcus catalog are that much better than similar things you

could purchase for fractions of the cost. Right now though I want you to think about the price that was paid for you.

Does the life you live match up to the price which was paid for you? Are you worth the blood that was shed for you?

Every day we should ask ourselves that question, because we want Jesus to get His money’s worth! No, not that we

will ever live up to that perfect standard, but remember that you were bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:20). Jesus paid

so much for us because He wants the best for us, the abundant life (Jn. 10:10). Every day make sure He knows the

price He paid was worth it by the way you live.
