AROUND THE WORLDGirls in KS1 have fun exploring other countries and cultures from around the world.

ART AND SCULPTURE If you are creative and enjoy using your imagination to make unique art, craft and sculpture pieces, then there are a range of clubs for different age groups that you might enjoy. Bring along your overall, enthusiasm and lots of imagination.Model makers - Years 1 and 2Origami - Year 4Craft and sewing - Year 5

BALLETWe now have ballet classes for girls in Reception and Years 1 to 4; so if you would like to learn the grace and skill of the ballet dancer, sign up for classes with Miss Rebecca from the Tracy Quaife School of Dance. Paid for activity. BANDSAspiring pop stars are given the chance to shine in Year 5 and 6 invitational bands: there are a diverse range of roles such as drummers, guitarists, keyboard players, lead and backing singers. Bands regularly perform in school and outside venue concerts.

BOOK AND CREATIVE WRITING CLUBSAspiring young writers in a variety of year groups, who have a particular love of books, are invited to join Mrs Carlyon and Mrs Taylor to discuss a range of texts and also to produce individual writing based on what they have read. Recent publications are available in the library to read.

BOOK EXPLORATION AND READING WORKSHOPSThese are run by our team of librarians, led by Ms Broomfield. Girls from different year groups are invited to share and enjoy their love of great books, finding out about exciting authors and new books, and choosing from the fabulous range of fiction and non-fiction in our beautiful library.

CHESSChess coaching is available for experienced or beginner chess players. We participate in the local primary schools chess league and some girls also play in the county U11 team. Don’t worry if you just want to learn, that is where everybody starts! Paid for activity.

DISCO DIVASYear 4, come along and strut your stuff! Learn a few disco moves to the latest chart music. All girls need to bring is their PE kit, their enthusiasm and a big smile!

GARDENING CLUBGirls in Year 6 learn about the natural growing cycle, ecological issues and our planet, whilst having the opportunity to eat what they grow.

GLEE CLUBSing and dance those cares away! Girls from Years 5 and 6 can enjoy choreographing and performing their own versions of a range of dances and songs from famous musicals - get fit and use your imaginative flair.

FENCINGThis is a chance to get fit whilst learning the precise and skilled art of fencing. An expert practitioner will lead the girls through a term’s course of fencing skills to fire their interest in this sport. Paid for activity.

HIGH CHALLENGE GROUPSGirls in Years 5 and 6 will be invited to join our High Challenge English and Mathematics groups which will take place every week during a dynamic lunchtime session. Girls are given tasks which extend their experiences beyond the classroom curriculum, build on independent thinking skills and develop a strategic approach to group work. For our budding engineers, we also take part in the National Maths in Motion racing cars competition.

JAZZ AND MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOPSAn exciting opportunity for a group of girls in Years 1 to 4 to join a series of workshops run by local professional, Tracy Quaife. Creativity and fitness combine in workshops that help the girls to choreograph their own work. Paid for activity.

JUNIOR AND INFANT CHOIRSIf you enjoy singing, you will love choir. Girls will experience a wide range of singing - both in unison and in parts. The repertoire chosen will be challenging but great fun.

LITTLE WICKETS CRICKET CLUBYounger girls will have the opportunity to have fun learning cricket skills with our qualified coaches. Girls will enjoy a weekly after-school session involving skills, fitness and mini cricket matches. Paid for activity.

MAKING STORIESOur younger pupils who enjoy books are invited to join our librarian Mrs Taylor to discuss stories in a fun environment, whilst producing their own mini-book to take home.

NETBALL AND HOCKEYFor Years 4 to 7 - learn and enjoy the individual and team skills involved in this exciting game. Beginners and more experienced players are welcome to come along, as the girls will learn a lot from each other. There will be opportunities to play matches against other schools throughout the year.

ORCHESTRA AND MUSICTraining Orchestra - For girls in Years 3 to 5 of any ability playing a mainstream Orchestral instrument, guitar or piano. Girls take their first orchestral steps in a fun group playing club. Skills include pitch, rhythm and have a go at conducting. Concert in the spring term.Junior Orchestra - For girls in Years 4 to 6 of grade 1 and above level playing a mainstream Orchestral instrument, guitar or piano. Concerts in the spring and summer terms.Chamber Orchestra - For girls in Years 5 to 6 of grade 3 and above level. Concentrating on more complex repertoire and musical ideas. Concerts and events year round.Brass Ensemble - For girls in Years 4 to 6 studying a brass instrument for more than 2 terms. Concerts and events year round.Flute Choir - For flautists and Fife players in Years 3 to 6 to develop sight reading and ensemble skills whilst having fun!Ukulele Orchestra - No experience needed for this fun singing and playing club from Years 3 to 6. Repertoire from musicals, films, folk and pop. Ukulele provided by school. Concert in the Autumn term.Band - For girls in Years 5 and 6 of grade 1 and above level in guitar, bass, keyboards, drums and vocals. Concerts in the Spring and Summer terms.

POSITIONS OF LEADERSHIP AND RESPONSIBILITYGirls from Years 1 to 6 have the opportunity to apply for a number of positions of responsibility where they can use their opinions to help shape our school community. Including house and vice house captains of each of our four houses (Year 6 only), school council, eco-council and food forum.

SCIENCE AND THE ENVIRONMENTThere are a number of opportunities throughout the year for our aspiring scientists or environmentalists to experience a range of exciting and practical activities that will extend their understanding and knowledge of science and the environment. A new opportunity to look out for this year is our allotment group who are going to have a go at growing their own “real” food!

SEW A SOCK MONKEYGirls who would like to learn or develop their sewing skills, whilst making a range of fun items to keep, should come along to Sew a Sock Monkey. All equipment will provided by the school for a small sum of money.

SPEECH AND DRAMASpeech and Drama lessons are offered to girls in Year 4 and above. Mrs Valentine-Hagart comes into school to teach girls, and arrangements to take and pay for Speech and Drama lessons are made directly with her through the Junior School office. Pupils work in groups of six to nine towards English Speaking Board examinations. A term’s notice must be given if Speech and Drama lessons are to be discontinued or payment is due in lieu of notice. Payment for lessons is made directly to Mrs Valentine-Hagart. Paid for activity.

SPORTSGirls in Years 3 to 6 will be offered a range of sports opportunities throughout the year, organised by the Senior School Sports Leaders and members of our PE staff. Enjoy sports ranging from basketball to cross country to hockey.
