Junior High School number 3 in Pabianice
The Junior High School number 3 in Pabianice is one of the biggest schools in Poland. There are about 650 students in our school. The school came into being in 1999 and it replaced the Primary School number 16. School year 2004/2005 was critical, because integrated departments appeared at our school.
About our patron
Tadeusz Kosciuszko was born on 4th February 1746 in Mereczowszczyzna. He is a Polish national hero. He learned in Knight's School. Tadeusz went to Paris for academic reasons. He took part in the war of USA's independence. He built West Point fortress. After he came back to Poland he was conscripted into the army. Tadeusz Kosciuszko fought in the Polish – Russian war in battles of Zielence and Dubienka. When king Stanisław August joined Targowica, Tadeusz decided to resign. He went to Lipsk and later to France and Italy. After he had come back to Poland he produced Kosciuszko's insurrection in 1794. Still after the lost battle of Maciejowice he was imprisoned in Petersburg. Tadeusz signed a servile oath and he was released. He spent the last years of his life in Switzerland. Tadeusz Kosciuszko died on 15th October 1817 in Solura. His remains are in the Cathedral of Wawel.
