Avoid Reclassification!• In order to be a SENIOR next year, you must

have earned 17.5 credits by the time school starts next year.

• If you have less than 17.5, you will be classified as a JUNIOR again!

• If you need to make up credits you can do that through summer school or an on-line class.

• Please see me if you have ANY questions about this!!!

AP Courses• If you are considering taking any AP courses next

year, you must print off the “AP Contract” found in the Course Guide on page 67.

• Because AP courses require a huge commitment on your part, you are required to read and sign the contract. You must have a parent sign the contract as well.

– .5 credit of Economics (US or International)2

– .5 credit of a Social Studies Elective (anything that doesn’t meet one of these listed criteria, for example: Sociology, Psychology, Colorado History, Contemporary World Issues)

Off Periods!!!• As seniors next year, you may be able to take

advantage of having ONE or TWO off periods per semester (“Administrative Dismiss”).

• You will STILL need to sign up for 14 classes now.• When you receive your schedule, you can decide if

there are classes you want to drop. Make sure they are not classes you need to graduate!

• Your “off period” will replace THAT class, THAT period…you MAY NOT rearrange your schedule in order to get desired periods off.

Page 21: Junior Registration What you need to know before you register for your SENIOR classes! Class of 2011!!!

No Schedule Changes!

Page 22: Junior Registration What you need to know before you register for your SENIOR classes! Class of 2011!!!

SO…please select your classesVERY CAREFULLY!!!

• Due to district and building budget constraints, our class sizes will be very full next year. We will not have the ability to accommodate schedule changes as we have done in the past. Therefore, it is imperative that you select classes that you know you can live with because if you change your mind, we won’t be able to move you to another class.

• The ONLY schedule changes we will be able to make next year will be corrections if you were placed in the wrong level of a course or are missing something you need to graduate.

Page 23: Junior Registration What you need to know before you register for your SENIOR classes! Class of 2011!!!

Don’t Forget…

• When you register for your year long classes, you have to enter in the course numbers for both semesters.

• Make sure you select BOTH S1 and S2.

• For example: – English I:

• 50300S1 AND 50300S2

– Algebra II w/ Trig:• 60590S1 AND 60590S2

Double Check…• Did I talk to my teachers about which classes

I should take?• Do I have a total of 14 classes?• Did I sign up for BOTH semesters of year-

long classes?• Did I select FOUR elective classes as

alternates?• Did I have my parent sign at the bottom

of the print out?
