    Position as Junior Research Group Leader

    in Social & Cultural Anthropologyat the University of Tbingen

    In order to support young researchers in achieving independence at an early stage of their scientificcareers, the university offers

    One position for a Junior Research Group Leader in Social & Cultural Anthropology

    for a young scientist with a highly promising track record. Candidates with an excellent doctorateand postdoctoral experience of two to four years will be enabled to lead a cutting-edge project inclose collaboration with the newly established Collaborative Research Center (SFB) 1070 onResourceCultures. The candidate is expected to contribute to the further development oftheoretical concepts linking the disciplines involved in the SFB. The university is particularlyinterested in research which explores new avenues in the cooperation between anthropology andarchaeology/historical sciences. The project should involve one PhD student fromarchaeology/historical sciences who will be supervised and guided by the JRG leader.

    FrameworkThe position is limited to a period of three years. The project can start on 1st of October 2013. If theJRG succeeds in obtaining third party funding, an extension is possible. Substantial funding forpersonnel (PhD student) and running costs will be available. The JRG leader is expected tocontribute to interdisciplinary teaching and research oriented training within the University ofTbingen. Salaries are in accordance with the German public service salary scale (E 14 TV-L,100%). Residency in Tbingen is expected.
