KINDERGARTEN
KC
It’s Fun to Add and Play, Let’s Now Fly Through Takeaway!
Working in small groups and
independently, the children will demonstrate
their understanding of number through practi-
cal activity, critical
thinking and collaboration.
KJ
Sailing on a Sea of Books
Join KJ to explore, reinforce
and practise reading through
a range of unseen texts and
various activities. Kindergar-
ten will show you how to
make connections with text
and locate the main idea of
a text.
STAGE ONE
1T
Numbers Up!
Through logical reasoning, team
work and interactive games, 1T
will share the relationship that
exists between multiplication
and division as well as explore
the properties of two-
dimensional shapes.
1V
Melting Moments
Students will investigate how
heating an cooling can change the
properties of matter, in this case
chocolate!! In teams, they will carry out
experiments, observe, record, discuss
and present the results of their scientific
investigations.
STAGE ONE
2A
It’s a Fact!
Students will respond critically
to unseen text applying
criteria to decide whether the
text states a fact (something
that is true) or an opinion
(a belief or a thought).
2C
Water Works
Linking their scientific
knowledge of the properties of
water, students will experiment
with colour and water to create
an original art work which
demonstrates their creativity
and self—expression.
Infants Coordinator: Mrs M. Kipriotis
STAGE TWO
3A
Before you End up in Defence, Think About the Consequence!
Life is full of decisions.
How do we know which
decisions to make? In
teams, students will work
on resolving disputes and
on making wise decisions.
This fun, engaging and
interactive lesson will
foster team work and will
provide opportunity for
students to discover,
connect, predict and apply their knowledge to real-life situations.
3S
Waltzing Into Reading with Matilda
Join Year Three as they
critically reflect on the
text and identify those
features that Roald Dahl
employed to engage the
reader. The students will
demonstrate what it is that
makes this a classic and
timeless story.
STAGE TWO
4C
You Can Count on Us!
Through cooperative groups,
students will work on logic
problems using the hundred
chart to represent the
relationship between
numbers and number system.
They will clearly articulate
their understanding and the
mathematical process
employed.
4T
Ring, Ring, Let the
Jingle Creation Begin
Thinking imaginatively and cre-
atively, students will work col-
laboratively to respond to text.
Students will write and per-
form a TV/Radio jingle to en-
courage people to recycle their
mobile phones.
Stage Leader: Miss T. Bletsogiannis
STAGE THREE
5A
Positive Peer Pressure
Year 5 have
developed strategies to
promote the power of positive
peer pressure. Watch them
create a print advertisement,
and YouTube clip using catchy
slogans and persuasion to
appeal to their target
audience.
5I
When is a Kangaroo a Kangaroo?
Using technology, students will conduct
research on the physical features of
desert and semi-arid regions and present
their understanding of how kangaroos
have adapted to these environments.
STAGE THREE
6M
Holiday Tour of China
China is an important
neighbour to Australia.
Using technology, students
will work in pairs to identify
the multimodal elements of a
tourism webpage. They will
use it as a springboard to
create an advertisement to
encourage their peers to visit China.
6P
Size Me Up
Is there such a thing as
‘Divine Proportion’ or ‘Golden
Ratio’? Students will work in
pairs to find whether there
are some common
relationships between the
measurements across the
human body. They will
present their findings. Can
they convince the audience of
their conclusion?
Stage Leader: Miss D. McCarthy
