Residents’ Corner

Does Jesus Live in Me?.... If I searched my heart, what would I find? Would I find Jesus, there on my mind? Would I be able to say, “Jesus is the one who helps me, each and every day”? I know I love Jesus; He set my sins free. He gave me hope and faith, by sharing His love with me. So, yes, Jesus lives in this heart of mine. He’s my friend and my companion, there with me all the time. He comforts me when I’m lonely, He lifts me when I’m blue. He gives me much happiness, no other friend can do. So, I thank my sweet Jesus for taking the time to care. For watching over me and keeping me safe. As I talk to him in silent prayer. -Mary D. Cox-

Change of Attitude… The story is told of a woman who during the war went to live with her husband in the Mojave Desert. She simply hated the place; the heat was almost unbearable –125 degrees in the shade, the wind blew incessantly, and there was sand, and more sand everywhere. Finally, in desperation she wrote her parents in Ohio that she could not stand it another minute and was coming home as soon as possible. Quickly came the reply by air mail from her father, just two short lines: - - - - “TWO MEN LOOKED OUT FROM PRISON BARS… ONE SAW THE MUD, THE OTHER SAW STARS” The daughter did some real thinking not only with her intellect but also with her heart. She decided to stay at her post. She made friends with the natives, learned to love the country, and eventually wrote a book about the Mojave Desert. The desert hadn’t changed, but her attitude had. Because she listened with her heart to the words her father sent, a whole new world opened for her. -Author Unknown- You Can Do it Too!!

Life’s Not Only About Me…. Through my troubles and my worries are sometimes all that I can see, still I always must remember life’s not only about me. Other souls are also hurting and I know that it is God’s plan to reach out to help another, to extend them a hand. With this purpose as my focus– to be a comfort to a friend, all my troubles and my worries seem to fade out in the end. It is one of God’s true lessons how my walk is meant to be, true happiness I find when life’s not only about me. -Tom Krause- (answers to front page riddles….. 1. cancel it’s credit card, 2. he kneaded more bread)
