We invite you to mingle with our Exhibitors and discuss the next days’ sessions with other industry professionals while enjoying the drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Stay for a while after the Operations Seminar, or come in early for the Winter Workshops the next day.
Smoke School Certification
Through a partnership with IMAA Associate member OpacitAir Smoke School, IMAA is offering a Smoke School course on Monday, January 29th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. OpacitAir will provide EPA Method 9 Visible Emissions Certification for attendees.
OpacitAir has over 20 years of combined experience for Method 9 Training, and has performed over 1000 sessions. They meet all requirements and regulations of 40 CFR 60 as stated by the United States EPA.
Keynote Speaker: Erik Young, Founder of Prime Vector
Erik is a practitioner in operations, strategy and Lean Six Sigma operations, focusing on high growth companies, typically funded by private equity or venture capital. Erik has spent the latter part of his career helping high growth entrepreneurial companies “make order out of chaos,” and create systems to scale rapidly. Erik has a combination of startup, corporate and consulting experiences along with real-world Lean Sigma implementation and innovation.
Erik will be presenting The Power of Lean Process during the General Session.
IMMEP Silent Auction and 50/50 Raffle
In 2017, the Indiana Mining and Mineral Education Program (IMMEP) awarded six $2500 scholarships to deserving students interested in careers in the aggregates industry. At the Winter Workshops this year, IMAA members can learn more about IMMEP, find out how they can become involved with the program, and participate in the IMMEP Silent Auction or 50/50 Raffle to help raise funds for future scholarships.

Reducing Recurring Equipment Failures by Identifying Root Causes is a workshop which aims to provide the fundamental knowledge and skills to recognize and understand different failure mechanisms; to identify key features of failed components; to differentiate between failures due to lubricant issues and those from other causes; and to take remedial steps to prevent re-occurrence of such failures. The workshop includes seeing firsthand an extensive range of real failed components. This workshop provides essential knowledge for a wide range of technical professionals.
At the end of the day participants will be able to identify key features of failed components, make educated judgements about the cause of failure, using a structured approach, and be able to identify the correct remedial steps required to help prevent such failures from occurring again.

How can I register for the 2018 Winter Workshops & Trade Show or the
Operations Seminar? There are two ways to register—you can fill out the 2018 IMAA Operations Seminar + Winter Workshops & Trade Show Registration Form (please print legibly) and submit it to the IMAA office. This form is used for the Winter Workshops, Trade Show and the Operations Seminar. You can also register online at www.indmaa.org/2018WinterWorkshops. If you would like to exhibit at the Trade Show, please submit a signed copy of the Guidelines for Exhibitors to the IMAA office. You can view the most up-to-date Trade Show Floor map online.
There are a lot of check boxes on the form! What do I need to fill out? Please be sure to check the Registration Item boxes for each item you are registering. Remember: the Welcome Reception, Associates Reception, Awards Luncheon and Safety Luncheon are all included in the Winter Workshops registration—you do not need to check these Registration Items if you have checked the Winter Workshops box. A Single Day registration will include all meals for that day.
Why do I need to provide an email for each Attendee? IMAA would like to keep our attendees informed of agenda updates, schedule changes, speaker presentations, etc. We would also like to invite our attendees to complete a survey after the event. The email addresses will not be distributed in any way.
Can I register more than one person at once? Yes, there are multiple Attendee sections on the registration form (BE SURE TO CHECK THE REGISTRATION ITEM BOXES FOR EACH ATTENDEE). You can copy the first page for more attendees and total everything on the second page. You can also register multiple attendees online—be sure to fill out the Attendee Information for each individual (Name, Company, Email).
What are the Registration Deadlines? Early Registration for the Winter Workshops ends Friday, January 12, 2018. The registration fee increases after this date. Registration for the Trade Show and Operations Seminar CLOSES Friday, January 19, 2018 or if all of the spaces are filled for each event (Trade Show max. = 68; Operations Seminar max. = 60).
