Splash Math reinforces key math skills with an interactive, self-paced, and adaptive format. It is a complete cross-platform learning system with the ability to generate a nearly unlimited number of problems, replacing static worksheets.

Its proven effectiveness helps children approach math confidently and positively, and ultimately excel as they grow. II. Splash Math School Premium
Splash Math is a personalised program that intelligently adapts to the way each student learns in order to help each student master key math skills. Splash Math covers all topics from Kindergarten through Grade 5 and is aligned to the state-curriculum. We’re pleased to offer No-cost No-commitment School-wide Premium license until April 30th
The program provides advanced analytics for educators to effectively use the program for regular practice, enrichment and intervention for students.
The Splash Math program uses best-in-class technology and is accessible across multiple platforms:
1. A standalone iPad app that syncs student progress across devices.
2. A web-version that is responsive and adapts to various screen sizes of PCs, Chromebook, laptops, mobile devices and tablets.

Splash Math Program Features for students
✓ Offline Access. Splash Math’s iPad app can work seamlessly without the need for internet access, and syncs with the Splash Math cloud servers when connection is re-established, enabling cross-platform usage.
✓ Student Center: Students can now choose their profile/avatar from here and play on Splash math in no time. It is a much easier and faster way of accessing Splash Math without having to enter individual username/password every time, hence more play time for your students.
✓ Aligned to School Curriculum. Comprehensive alignment to math curriculum, with a modular build to easily align to state-specific standards to improve students’ scores on end-of-year school tests.
✓ Dynamic Problem Sets. Math problems are dynamically generated through 2,500+ proprietary templates that replace static worksheets; each time a student revisits a skill, they are presented with different practice problems for virtually unlimited and un-repetitive practice.
✓ Adaptive Questions. Adaptive and interactive features enable problem structure to increase in complexity with correct answers, and allows children to express concepts with relevant math symbols and vocabulary.

✓ Structured Assistance. Questions in Splash Math can be read aloud in a friendly voice to familiarize children with pronunciations of math vocabulary. Children can select to receive a hint, and each wrong answer is followed with the correct answer and explanation to reinforce the concepts learned.

Dashboards for teachers and administrators
The Splash Math School Premium subscription program is a convenient and effective way for teachers to assign in-class math problems and homework assignments for all the standards-aligned math concepts in grades K-5. In addition to all of the features described for the app alone, the School Premium subscription offers:

✓ Assessments. Diagnostic and Progress Monitoring assessments that analyze proficiency and help the teacher to identify students requiring extra help.

III. Proven Efficacy
Splash Math has been proven effective in improving student results in math when used consistently. A pilot study conducted by Strobel Consulting in the summer and fall of 2015 showed student gains to be statistically significant across all demographic groups. Key outcomes of the study include:
• Average gain of 7.5 percentile points for students using Splash Math over the 5-8 weeks of the pilot study.
• Using Splash Math according to the minimum requirements resulted in significantly higher math gains (11.8% percentile points) than not meeting the requirements (0.4% percentile points)
• Significant learning gains demonstrated
across different demographics: females and males, minorities and non-minorities, students receiving free/reduced lunch and those not, and students at various ability and grade levels.
• As expected, students who participated in the pilot study for 8 weeks showed greater learning gains than those who participated in the 5 week pilot.
• While not statistically significant, Splash Math students tended to outperform non-Splash Math students in topics measuring the students’ ability to solve word and reasoning problems.

• In a follow-up survey, participating teachers expressed satisfaction with Splash Math – 92% reported that students gained new skills and 77% saw a marked improvement in math performance.
• Quote from a 5th grade teacher involved in the study: “My students’ math skills have improved because they are motivated to practice math on their own. On the last topic test I gave, every one of my students passed with a ‘C’ or better. We’re a Title 1 school and that has not happened since I’ve taught here!”
Splash Math followed it up with a year long Randomised Control Trial. Some of the notable results from the year long study were—
• Students demonstrated significant math learning gains over the school year from pre to post-testing as measured by the Iowa Form E test.
• Splash Math Subgroups showed statistically significant learning gains especially, minorities and non-minorities, students receiving free/reduced lunch and those not, limited English Proficient students.

Built on a research-based Model
Splash Math was built with an underlying focus on the A.R.C.S. research model created by Professor John Keller from Florida State University. Professor Keller found that Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction are the four key factors of instructional design that keep students highly engaged and motivated while stimulating and sustaining their desire to learn. Splash Math utilizes these four factors to motivate kids and generate proven results.
Attention (Perceptual and inquiry arousal and variability): Splash Math offers visually appealing themes designed specifically for each grade level that keep students engaged. With over 2,500 problem templates, students are constantly stimulated to keep them from losing attention, unlike repetitive, static worksheets. An unlimited number of problems can be generated that keeps students wanting to practice more math through visually appealing content, constant animation, and engaging storylines.
Relevance (Goal orientation, motive matching, and familiarity): The Splash Math adaptive engine and dynamic problem generator offers a self-paced learning platform. Each problem adapts to the student’s skill level and increases in complexity with correct answers. Diagnostic assessments create a targeted learning plan for each user with adaptive algorithms and customized delivery of questions.
Confidence (Learning requirements, success opportunities, and personal control): Through Common Core aligned curriculum, students master each concept by recalling underlying concepts that intelligently adapt to the way each student learns. 80% of kids have reported improved confidence in their math abilities.
