INTRODUCTION
We, at the K. M. S. P. Mandal, Kudal and Sant Rawool Maharaj Mahavidyalaya are very much delighted to welcome the new generation of students seeking admission in various faculties. Looking in the past, the institution is proud about the goals which are already achieved and also equally proud of the students who played a very vital role in achieving these goals. The college is now well renowned by its various outstanding activities at every level; right from district to the university as well as the state. We have academic excellence coupled with bright achievements inNSS, NCC, DLLE, Cultural, Sports Research and Social Activities in last few years. Our students from all faculties have attained an excellent academic record and are presently involved in their respective advanced studies or and are performing well at their professional levels. Our competent and enthusiastic teachers have taken initiatives in various Research activities in their respective subjects. Many of the teachers are involved in the major and minor research projects and have organized national/state level conferences, seminars & workshop, Besides, students are also consistently encouraged and inspired to participate in research as well as other curricular and co-curricular activities by the Principal and faculty.
ABOUT COLLEGE
The College has spacious classrooms, well furnished and well equipped laboratories, library and academically excellent teachers. From the beginning, attaining excellence and efficiency has been a primary goal of the institution and management. The college offers UG programmes in Arts, Commerce and Science. Along with that, we have career oriented programmes such as Computer Systems & Application & Direct and Indirect Taxation at Third Year B.Com. We have also added new professional courses like B.Sc. - Computer Science from 2002, Bachelor of Management Studies [BMS] and Bachelor of Information Technology [B. Sc.- IT] from the academic year 2009-2010. Also from year 2013-14 college has started new P.G. courses namely M.Com (Advance Accounting), M.Sc. Maths as well as Language Lab & Softskill training Center.
The college has 15 academic departments. Curriculum is designed by the Board of Studies of the Mumbai University. However, the faculty members enjoy the freedom of making constructive suggestions to the Board of Studies in updating the contents of respective syllabi. Teachers and students are encouraged to use computers/internet to enhance their learning and understanding. For this purpose, college has set up a “UGCNetwork Resource Centre” where computer/internet facility is made available free-of-cost. Presently college is following the semester based system of teaching and examination as per the university norms. Student strength of the college is about 1400 and most of them belong to economically weaker sections of society. Such students are helped through UGC / Govt. / Semi Govt. / NGO's Scholarship schemes while remaining students not covered by these schemes are helped from the Student's Aid Fund of the college. Admissions are done as per the rules prescribed by the University of Mumbai. Academic merit is duly recognized while filling up vacancies. Preference is also given to the students who are good in sports and extra-curricular activities. Efforts are made to achieve excellence in Teaching-Learning and Evaluation.

Karachi Maharashtriya Shikhan Prasarak Mandal was established in 1929 by the great
academician Late Vitthal Ganesh alias Bhaisaheb Pradhan and Late D.V. Anaokar Guruji, for the
Maharashtriyans in Karachi. The K.M.S.P. Mandal Started its first Marathi Medium High School
Shri. Shivaji High School, at Karachi. After partition, the founder members of the K.M.S.P. Mandal
had to come back to their home villages. So it was natural for them to continue their efforts to give
flip to education in Kudal.

GUIDELINES FOR ADMISSION
Student seeking admission for FY (B.A, B.Com, BMS, B.Sc.,IT) should have enrolled /
Registered to Mumbai University on the website - www.mum.digitaluniversity.ac.in. Admission is as
per merit and other norms as laid down by the University, the Government or the Management, from
time to time. The Principal reserves the right to amend/modify the guidelines regarding admissions,
as and when such amendments/modifications are received from the Government/University or the
Management, as the case may be. They will be a accordingly notified on the College Notice Board.
Admission in the above classes will be subject to availability of seats in the College.
A candidate being eligible for the admission to the three year integrated course leading to the
degree of Bachelor of Arts, Commerce or Science must have passed the Higher Secondary School
Certificate (SYJC) examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher
Secondary Education or an examination recognized as equivalent with subjects, as specified by the
University, in Arts, Commerce or Science streams.
Student passing an examination equivalent to SYJC of the Higher Secondary Board &
Intermediate (Arts/Commerce/Science) of University of Mumbai or from other States & immigrating
from other Universities and Boards will be admitted to the F.Y.B.A / F.Y.B.Com /F.Y.B.Sc. only on the
sumission of the “Provisional Eligibility Certificate” issued by the University of Mumbai. Such
students should submit migration certificate, statement of marks & passing certificate in Original
along with true copies within two months from the date of admission Otherwise their admission is
liable to be cancelled.
Students coming from other college affiliated to the University of Mumbai will be admitted
only provisionally on submission of a “ No Objection Certificate” with University PRN from the
Principal of the college last attended. Their admission will be confirmed only on receipt of the
Transference Certificate (T.C.) from their previous college & availability of the subject combination.
For this purpose, they should submit an application form along with T.C. fees to the college office at
the time of admission.
A few seats may be available in certain subjects for the students from other colleges seeking
admission to Second and Third year classes.
thA candidate for being eligible for admission to F.Y. B.M.S. shall have passed XII Std
Examination with minumum 45% marks for General Category (at First Attempt) and minimum 40%
marks for Reserved category (at First Attempt) of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary
Education or its equivalent examination or Diploma in any engineering branches with two or three
or four years duration after the S.S.C. conducted by the Board of Technical Education, Maharashtra
State or equivalent examination.

A candidate for being eligible for admission to the degree course in Bachelor of Science in
Information Technology, shall have passed XII Std. Examination of the Maharashtra State Board of
Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent with Mathematics as one of the
subject and should have secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate for open category
candidates and 40% marks in aggregate in case of reserved category candidates.

Candidates who have passed Diploma in Computer Engineering / Computer Science /
Computer Technology / Information Technology / Electrical, Electronics & Video Engineering and
Allied Branches/ Mechanical and Allied branches, Civil and Allied branches of Engineering after
S.S.C. (Xth standard) are eligible for direct admission to the Second Year of the B .Sc. (I.T.) degree
course. However, the Diploma should be recognized by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical
Education or any other recognized Government body. Minimum marks required 45% aggregate for
open category candidates and 40% aggregate for reserved category candidates.
Students should bring the following documents in original along with duly attested
photocopies for verification at the time of admission:-
1) Original H.S.C. Mark sheet and Leaving Certificate along with Two xerox copies of each.
2) One zerox copy of S.S.C. Mark sheet.
3) Three recent Passport size photograph
4) Caste Certificates (if applicable) and Caste Validity Certificate
5) Documentary evidence regarding special category status
6) Eligibility Certificate (issued by University) for students coming from other than Maharashtra
Board and Maharashtra Technical Board)
7) Physically Challenged candidates should produce the relevant certificate from competent
authority.
8) In case the original mark sheet of H.S.C. has been submitted for admission to any college,
a certificate to that effect, signed by the Principal of the College must be produced.
1) For TYBA/BCom/BSc/BMS/B.Sc. IT - Marksheets of Semester I to IV along with one xerox copy
each.
2) For SYBA/BCom/BSc/SYBMS/BScIT - Mark sheets of Semester I & II along with one xerox
copy each.
3) For new admission at S.Y. / T.Y. - NOC with enrolment details to be produced from the previous
college.

AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION

The student who seeks admission in the college should meet the Principal/Concerned Authority
first along with the parents / guardian. Then he / she will be admitted in the college. Applications
sent by post or in the hands of irrelevant person will not be entertained.
At the time of admission itself, the student should pay complete amount of first semester fees.
The fees for second semester should be paid on the onset of the semester.
If a student needs any relaxations in the time duration allotted for the payment of fees, then he /
she must apply to the Principal. The relaxation may be given for genuine reasons and under
certain circumstances only.
In case of any change in the fees, the same will be notified as and when received from the
University / Government.
Employed Students should mention the detailed information like salary, duty hours etc. in the
admission form. They must produce NOC of their employer, with the admission form. If a student
gets a job after admission, he / she should inform the college within 15 days, in writing. Such
students should be present for 75% of the lectures / Tutorials / Practicals Semesterwise. If he /
she fails to complete 75% presence, admission can't be continued.
The students who are seeking E.B.C concession should produce the Income Certificate of his/
her father / mother / guardian, showing their annual income up to Rs. 1 lakh.
If father, mother or guardian of student are in service, then salary certificate regarding the same
should be submitted along with the application. The salary certificate should be duly signed by
the competent authority of the respective office with the seal.
The Total Annual Income Certificate of the Parents/Guardian must have an attestation of a
Gazzetted Officer or competent authority. If the student is from a town / village with a population
less than ten thousand, then the Certificate of Total Annual Income be sealed by Sarapanch of
the place & two copies of the same must be presented to the college. If the population of town /
village is more than ten thousand, then the Total Annual Income Certificate must be signed by the
First Class Magistrate of the place & two copies of the same must presented to the college.
The above said fee relaxations will not be granted to a student who is the Third child in his / her
family and if all his / her elders are alive.
If the student getting relaxation under E.B.C./G.S./P.T.C. or any other scheme is found to
be insincere and irregular, then his / her fee relaxation may be withdrawn.
Student will have to produce a copy of his ration card for EBC concession facility.
Students applying for fee concessions under E.B.C./G.S/P.T.C/S.T.C. or another scheme have to
submit their application in the prescribed form with relevant documents within 30 days of threopening of the college OR within 30 days from the date of admission, but not later than 10 July
2015
Students will have to complete his / her at least 75% attendance for each of the semester for both
theory & Practical Otherwise he / she will not be eligible for any type of the Fee concession.

Others Schemes for Fee Relaxation
n The students, whose parents were freedom fighters in the movement of Indian freedom & were
imprisoned for at least six months or have lost the property or the sources of earning or were
sentenced to death or have been physically disabled in that movement, can seek for the fee
relaxation.
n The students whose parents serve in the Army can ask for the fee relaxation. These is no any
limit of Income case of such students. But two copies of prescribed form should be submitted
along with the certificate of D.S.S. Board.
n The students whose parents are serving as High School teachers or as non-teaching staff of a
college can seek for the fee relaxation. For that the application must be accompanied with the
certificate of respective Headmaster of the High school or the college Principal.
n The students whose parents are primary teachers can get fee relaxation. There is no need of
salary certificate. Two copies of the prescribed application form should be submitted.
n Students, belonging to Muslim, Parasi, Shikh, Christian and Boudh communities, can apply for
the scholarship for minority communities. Application forms are available in the college office.

REFUND OF FEES AFTER CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION:-

Students, will be admitted to the college only after paying all fees as per rules. Fees will be
refunded after the cancellation of the admission, as per University ordinance O.2859.
The amount of caution money, library deposit, laboratory deposit, if any, will be refunded when a
student leaves the college or cancels the admission. Deposits not claimed within Six months of
leaving the college or cancellation of admission will be forfeited.
The amount of deposits will be refunded to the student after 15 days from the date of receipt of his
/ her application duly signed by student and guardian.
The students who have not surrendered their identity Cards, Original Deposit receipts must
surrender the same against the refund of deposits. Otherwise he / she stand to forefeit the
deposits. Affidavit Bond will not be accepted at any cost.
Refund of deposits will commence after 15 August every year.
The candidate who have taken admission in under graduate courses in college may request for
refund of fees after applying in writing for cancellation of their admission to the course. The refund
of fees as applicable shall be made on or before 30 days after the date of cancellation and
thereafter. The percentage of fee for the course shall be refunded to the candidate after
deducting charges as follows:

Self-discipline is the best discipline. All students are expected to observe rules and regulations currently in force to enable the smooth working of the college.Students are strictly prohibited from doing anything inside or outside the college that will interfere with its orderly administration or affect its public image. No outside influence, political or any other kind should be brought into the college directly or indirectly.
NOTE: The total amount considered for the refund of fees from the commencement of academic term of the courses includes the following:All the fee items chargeable for one year are as per relevant university circular for different Faculties (Excluding the courses for which the total amount is fixed by other competent authorities.)

CODE OF CONDUCT
n Students should always carry their own valid college identity card whenever in college or representing the college at any other place. Further it should be produced whenever demanded by any of the college staff.
n During the conduct of lectures/practical/tutorials/exams, students should not loiter in the college premises.
n All students are expected to observe decorum with regards to both clothing & behavior.
n While representing the college at any other place, the students behavior should not be detrimental to the image of the college.
n In case of any problem, personal or academic, students should report to the Teacher-in-Charge of their respective class or to the Principal of the college.
n Students are directed not to bring any outsider into the college premises.
n Students should not collect any fund from other students or from outsider without the written permission of the Principal.
n Students should not organize on their own picnics, excursions, trips, any Celebrations etc. without prior written permission from the Principal.
n The power relating to the disciplinary action in the college will vest with the Principal and his decision in this respect shall be final. Any one who violates the code of conduct will be severely dealt with accordingly.
Government of Maharashtra has notified Ragging as a cognizable offence. Anyone reported to be involved in any form of ragging. will be liable for the punishment under State Govt./University Act. Therefore, students are required to restrain from involving in any form of ragging.
n Students who request leave of absence from lectures/practicals/tutorials for participating in sports, games, cultural or any other activities for and on behalf of the college/activity group, should submit the application countersigned by the respective Teacher-in-Charge in the office addressing to the Principal.
n Parent of the students are requested to kindly contact the Teacher-in-Charge of the class. Head of Department or the Principal, at least once in a semester, to keep themselves abreast with their ward's attendance and progress.
n Students should not publish any material/information/article related to college, management or any department in the college without prior written permission from the Principal.
n The Students are expected to keep the college premises clean and neat. The infrastructure of the college should be appropriately used for self-development by the students. Students should not act towards the economical loss of college in any respect.
n In case of distant students, they may get a concession in S.T. fair to go home during long duration holidays. The concession will be with respect to the address mentioned in the admission application.
n The Principal and Management of the college keeps-up the right to modify the code of conduct, if necessary in an appropriate and proper way. The same will be binding for all students.
n Ragging is strictly prohibited :

n Students should not bring with them any valuable thing or money, more than necessary. College will not be responsible for loss of such thing.
n It is a punishable crime to damage or destroy any property of the college. Students should read the notice boards everyday to get the update information about all college activities, exams and scholarships etc.
n Students are prohibited to wear T-Shirts or Cargo Pants in the college premises.
n Attendance for Unit Tests/Prelim Examinations for T.Y.B.A / T.Y.B.Com./ T.Y.B.Sc./Computer Science / I.T./ B.M.S. Students is Compulsory.
n Students must attend 75% of the lectures, practical Separately and guest lectures in each term of academic year, failing which they will not be eligible to appear for the Term / Semester /Examinations.
n Parents are advised to take special note of this mandatory condition of minimum attendance.
n Application for leave of absence of their wards on account of illness or other reasons should be submitted to the College authorities in time. Such students should report to the Principal before resuming attendance.
“ Any disorderly, whether by words spoken or written, or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness any other student, including in rowdy or undisciplined activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise apprehension thereof in a fresher or junior student or asking the students to do any act or perform something which such student will not in the ordinary course and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or phyche of a fresher or junior student.”

Be it know to all that action shall be taken against those who are found in indulging in ragging as per Recommendation of Raghavan Committee to Curb the Menace of Ragging Constituted By the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, which are as follows:
The punishment to be meted out has to be exemplary and justifiably harsh to act as a deterrent against recurrence of such incidents.
n Victim may lodge an FIR
n The institution must be an active party to lodge an FIR.
n Ragging Evidence: Act of ragging witnessed by teacher, non-teaching staff on administrative staff to be treated as final.
n In case the applicant for admission is found to have indulged in ragging in the past or if it is noticed later that he has indulged in ragging, admission may be refused or he shall be expelled from educational institution.
n Anti-ragging committees and squad shall be formed by the institutions and it shall be the job of the committee or the squad, as the case may be, to see that the Committee's recommendations, more particularly those above observed without exception.
Department on the nature and gravity of the offence as established by the Anti-Ragging Committee of the college, those found guilty of ragging shall be liable for any one or any combination of the following punishment.
n Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
n Withholding / withdrawing scholarship / fellowship and other benefits.
n Debarring from appearing in any test / examination or other evaluation process.
n Withholding results.
n Debarring from representing the institution in any national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.
n Suspension / expulsion from the hostel.
n Cancellation of admission.
n Rustication from the institute for period ranging from 1 to 4 semesters.
n Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution for a specific period.
n Fine ranging between Rs. 25,000/- and Rs. 1 lakh.
n Imprisonment up to 3 years.
n In the case of offence of very serious / grievous nature, referring the case to the Police, in addition to any other punishment and / or collective punishment where the offence is committed collectively by a group or by a class making it difficult or not possible to identify specific persons.

Other Details
The institution shall file an FIR with the police / local authorities whenever a case of ragging is reported, but shall continue with its own enquiry and other measures without waiting for action on the part of the police / local authorities. Remedial action shall be initiated and completed within the one week of the incident itself.
The Migration Certificate / Transfer Certificate issued by as institution shall have an entry, apart from those of general conduct and behavior, whether the student had participated in and /or punished for the offence of ragging or not.
Freshers are encouraged to report incidents of ragging. Those who do not do so even when being witnesses or victims, shall also be punished suitably.
Every student will give a written undertaking to the effect that he / she is aware of the law regarding ragging as well as the punishments, and that he/she, if found guilty of ragging, is liable to be punished appropriately.
The parent/ guardian of the applicant will also give a written undertaking stating that he/she is aware of the law in this regard and agrees to abide by the punishment meted out to his/her ward in case he/she is found guilty of ragging.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION
The college conducts all F.Y. & S.Y. examinations on behalf of the university of Mumbai, while all the T.Y. examinations are conducted by the University.
As per the Credit Based Grading System the evaluation of a student in each course (i.e 'paper' as we used to say) will be according to the following scheme:-
Internal Assessment 25% 25 Marks
One periodic Class Tasts/ Case Studies 20 Marks
Active participation in class & overall conduct 05 Marks
Semester End Assessment 75 % (examinations of 2½ hour duration.) 75 Marks
For courses (i.e. 'papers') with practicals, practical examinations will be out of 50 marks for each course separately.
A supplementary examination will be conducted for all students who fail in the semester/internal examination.
The overall marks secured by a student in each course as well as the aggregation of marks of the semester will be represented as grades rather than marks for the respective semester as indicated below:-

In order to pass in a semester, a student must secure a minimum of 'E' grade in each course.The grade points of all the six semesters as indicated above will be used to calculate the overall grade secured by the student in the entire programme of three years.
For clarification regarding the examination scheme, a student may approach the Chairperson or any member of the examination committee or Principal.
T.Y.B.A. / B.Com. / B.Sc. students should note that examination forms of the following categories of students will not be sent, or if already sent, will be withdrawn for
(I)Poor attendance (As per ordinance 119, 125 etc.)
(II) Poor conduct & performance.
The marks secured in every internal Assessment / Semester examination will be counted towards the final grade of the degree.

n Student resorting to unfair means at the exams will be dealt in accordance with the provisions of the Government of Maharashtra Act. No XXXI of 1982 and the Maharashtra Universities Act 1994.

b A learner shll be allowed to keep term for Semester III
A learner who fails in not more than four courses of Semester I and Semester II taken together with not more
than two courses each in semester I & II.
c A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester IV irrespective of number of heads of failure in Semester
III. However, learner shall pas each course of Semester I and Semester II in order to appear for Semester IV.
d A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Semester V
A learner shall pass Semester I and Semester II and fails in not more than four courses of III and IV taken
together with not more than two courses each in sem. III & sem. IV.
e A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Sem. VI irrespective of number of heads of failure in the Sem. V.
However, the Learner shall pass each course of Sem. III and Sem. IV in order to appear for Sem. VI.
f The result of Sem. Vi shall be kept in abeyance until the learner passes each of Sem. I, II, III, IV and V,
i A learner shall be allowed to keep term for Sem. II irrespective of grades obtained in each course of Sem. I.
ii A learner shall be allowed to keep term of Sem. III if he/she passes (grade 'E' or above)
He/she fails in not more than three courses, in each of Semester I and Semester II (For all Science Programmes
carring total 900 or more marks).
iii A learner shall be allowed to keep term of Sem. IV irrespective of grades obtained in each course of Sem. III.
However Learner has to pass either of Sem. I of Sem. II in order to appear for Semester IV.

LIBRARY
GENERAL RULES :
n Every student entering the library should have a valid College Identity Card. It should be produced as & when demanded by any of the Library staff.
n Identity Card & Reader's Ticket are not transferable.
n A complete silence & strict discipline should be maintained in the library.
n Students must handle the books, periodicals etc. with a great care. Any attempt to damage the books of periodicals by defacing or tearing the pages will be treated as misconduct and strictly dealt with.
n If the original I-Card or Reader's Ticket is lost, a duplicate will be issued on payments of Rs. 50/- each

n If any reference is required, the students should approach the Librarian.
n Every student is expected to read & strictly follow the instructions given on the back side of the Reader's Ticket.
n In case of late return of the books, the students will have to pay a fine of Rs. 1 /- per day for the first week & will have to pay Rs.2/- per day after that. In case of a serious default, the amount of fine may be increased up to Rs.25/- per day. If a student fails to return the book for three weeks in succession, then his/her borrower card will be cancelled for the whole academic year. New books will not be issued till the students pay the fine. While charging the fine, holidays will also be counted.
n Reissue of the books will depend upon the demand for the same. For every book, the student has to fill up the demand slip.
n If a book issued, is lost by the student, then student will have to pay two times to its present market price.
n The student should check properly the book which is being issued to him / her.
n Any complaint regarding torn book will not be entertained afterwards. If the book is not in condition while being issued, the student should bring the same to the notice of Library staff.
n Any disregard of these rules will be reported to the Principal for the appropriate action.

The college has shown excellence in the field of sports. The games/sports activities affordable to the college, will only be preferred. (List of Games - Volleyball. Carrom, Kho-Kho, Atheletics, Langadi, Table Tenis, Chess)
stif student stood I in the sports he/she is eligible to receive a grace of 10 Marks.
The NSS has a special importance in the curricular activities. Student volunteers are expected to serve for the society, along with curricular studies. In that view, the programmes like Adult Education & Literacy, Health Programmes, Village/Town development projects, Plantation, Construction of weirs etc.are organized and conducted successfully under his scheme. One day camps or special camps for the same are organized during vacations. If a student honestly works for 120 hours throughout the year, then he/she is eligible to receive a University certificate & a gracing of 10 Marks in the final examination as per University Rules.
The College has a N.C.C. Unit with strength of 54 cadets. At the time of service interview, the candidates with N.C.C. certificate are given preference. Also the student in this scheme can get a gracing of 10 marks if he fulfils the number of parades as per the rule.
Students can choose vocational/community career oriented projects designed by DLLE of the University of Mumbai. Projects are as follows.
Seven types of Extension Work projects are being offered by the department under the two different units.
Through this unit a range of Extension Work projects are offered for enhancing the employability and IT skills of the student. The projects are as given below.
