Backgrounds

This document describes the the steps that where done to use the iTach IP2CC in conjunction with

Vera 3 on Ui5 (1.5.622). The main reason is to operate a Kallox CL-338H Automated Rolerblind that is

used in a DIY project for automating a traditional Plissé with Vera.

Because the Kallox uses its own load (+/- 5V DC) to switch the UP, DOWN and STOP commands, a

potential free contact was needed.

This could be have been done with:

a. Z-Wave Fibaro Roller Shutter 2 (AND 2x additional AC/DC relay(s))

b. Z-Wave Fibaro Relay Insert 2 * 1.5KW (has 2 potential free relays)

But both have only 2 switchable contacts and I want to use 3.

Then I found the iTach IP2CC that has 3 x switchable contacts (all Normally Open).

Because it was not documented if it would work with Vera, I took the chance and created this

document to describe my test.

Initial Setup

First I setup the iTach IP2CC to connect only to the Vera 3 via the network (connect via LAN cable).

I followed the steps as described here (only step 1 and 2)

This resulted in 4 Devices for me:

At first there were no buttons on the switches, only inside the object in the tab Control

I’m not sure what happened (I guess a full refresh CTRL-F5 OR setting the property “embedded to

Falsse) but suddenly they where there. They are needed to create a Scene…

Using the Devices When switching on a device the device stays on untill you press of again.

As the Kallox only needs a pulsation I start using the “Automation tab”…

I created 3 scenes:

- Plisse DOWN

- Plisse UP

- Plisse STOP

They all have the following config:

- Immediate = On

- 1s = OFF

This will Pulsate the Relays (1s ON then OFF again)

This all can be tested on the IP2CC as the Relays LED light up when connection is ON.

Every Relays has its own connection LED, so it can easily be debugged, so you don’t have to connect

it to the final device yet.

Connecting the Kallox CL-338H to the IP2CC

For this we use the Kallox 5 Mtr. Additonal Cable for External Domotica.

On one end this cable has a connector to fit into the 2nd control interface on the Kallox.

On the other end it has 5 lose wires. You only need 4.

One has an unidentified function.

The Kallox Line/Power is daisy chained from the 1st connector to the 2nd and 3rd connector (marked in

green)

The Kallox unit is placed underneath the windowstill (that is not shown).

3 small Pulleys are used to redirect the wire (trough the windowstill) at the right angles.

The drawing below shows a viewpoint standing inside the room looking outside trough the window.

The Plisse curtain is 50% down (half open).

(We only automated the Cord that allows the Plisse to go open from the top to the bottom.)
