It is a distinct honor to recommend to you the firm KDS Inc. I have done work with KDS for over 15 years consisting of small finish‐outs to large high end commercial projects. They have always been efficient and shown creativity and enthusiasm with a high understanding of all aspects in the construction process.
We handle large variety of estimates with various architects on a weekly basis. Whether being a preliminary budget or a hard bid, the quality of pricing is directly affected by quality of the bidding documents. This is where KDS ranks as one of the most respected Architectural firms among General Contractors in the Austin area. Construction document formats vary from firm to firm and KDS has established a unique method that enables the reader to easily reference details. This is critical for cost estimating and eliminating issues before they happen. Their knowledge in MEP’s enables them to better compliment all the proper elements of successful design.
On several instances I have been involved in Pre‐Construction design and witnessed the interaction between the KDS team and their clients. Their knowledge of the latest products, designs and technology facilitates the best outcome for their clients needs. I have seen the confidence clients have with KDS and the influence a friendly atmosphere can create. The ability to perceive a clients needs and establish the best design for them is the ultimate goal and KDS has repeatedly demonstrated that. I have seen many repeat clients throughout the years with KDS and the reason is their consideration they put in each and all of their designs.
KDS has a “hands on” attitude. They listen to the contractor’s input to work out field situations that most architects expect you to handle on your own. This not only helps us as the contractor but in my experience has helped their clients get the best value with each and every design. I would say their style is definitely professional with a real world perspective that separates them from the crowd. I have and will continue to recommend them to our clients for commercial interiors as well as build to suit projects especially when they are looking for an Architect that thinks outside the box. They have the ability to make each project unique through a team process.
When choosing an Architect it is so important to find a firm that keeps it fresh and interesting that you have a connection with. I think KDS not only offers designs that are current and fresh but the real difference is their approach to make the whole process not only on paper but in the real world. I wish more architects understood the business like they do.
