Just a few other notes
Please see our web site for full copies of the GBBR announcements for this year
We have copied the text in to the newsletter but the original announcement are worth re-
viewing ..!
Do’s and Don’t’s
A recent event on the lake where a cottager was seen towing an old dock to the marsh rather
than properly disposing of it has generated some conversation with our counsellor Grant
Walker. The incident came to light in view of the fact that the cottager lost control of the dock
and left it stranded in front of another cottagers place . Needless to say ...dragging an old
dock to rot in our sensitive marshlands is not the environmentally correct action .It is also
problematic in a range of ways to leave refuse abandoned anywhere n the lake never mind in
front of a neighbors cottage .. Having said that ..we all know how hard it is to dispose of a
heavy water logged object … Grant is going to speak to the town to see if we can set up one
day a year for the town to come with the right equipment to allow cottagers to tow their old
docks to public dock at the marina to have them properly removed from the lake and dis-
posed of ….he will get back to us to report
Water pumps
We are almost there with a program to publish on water pumps for purchase. An earlier off
shore source that was economical proved unreliable so we are sourcing domestically.
It was not ready at the time of writing so we will publish separately please email Laura if you
are interested [email protected]
Bi laws
Please check our web site for copies of the new Bi-law enforcement strategy put out by the
town
