    Cuddapah, Aug. 6: After facing sharpcriticism for what is being alleged as ‘triggering' the separateTelangana

    movement due to the gross discriminationmeted out to

    the people of that region by the Stategovernment, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, is once againunder fire for the same reason, this time by Kapunadu.

    Setting September-end as deadline for inclusion of the Kapu caste in the list of the BackwardClasses, the Kapunadu has threatened to re-launch itsmovement to achieve its goal.

    The State president of Kapunadu MiriyalaVenkat Rao, who

    was here to participate in a meeting of thelocal Balijas, lashed out at the State government for itsbiased policies. He pointed out though Kapus comprised 27per cent of the

    State's population, they were not givenadequate representation in any field.

    Venkat Rao said the biased policies ofChandrababu Naidu government had forced the community to taketo streets to seek justice in economic, social andpolitical arena. Regretting that it had been left high anddry by successive governments in the State, VenkatRao lamented that even the selected fewpoliticians from the community had not bothered to ensureprogress and welfare of the section.

    The Congress government in the State duringthe chief ministership of Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy,released a GO identifying Kapu as a Backward Class. TheTelugu Desam

    which succeeded power, constituted JusticePuttuswamy Commission to go into the facts promisingthat the recommendations of the committee would beimplemented

    within a year.

    But the State had failed to keep its wordeven after seven years had lapsed after the submission of the report, he pointed out. The Kapunadu leader demandedthat the State government make public the panel recommendations.

    Alleging that both students and employeesbelonging to the community were subjected to harassment,he said the students were denied payment of scholarships while employees were deprived of promotions.

    Claiming that almost 90 per cent of hiscommunity men were at the receiving end of Babu'spartisan stand, Venkat

    Rao asserted he could substantiate hischarge with facts and figures.
