However, the problem in Afghanistan is because of external factors. It is the inter- ests of outside powers that have engulfed our country,” Karzai told FNA on Saturday. Governor Salim Khan Kun- duzi inaugurated the tree plantation drive by planting a few seedlings at the Kidney Hospital, urging the people to protect and take care of the young trees. To a question from Pajhwok Afghan News the governor said: “Forests were cut down in some areas, but at yester- day’s security meeting, some district administration and police chiefs were asked to prevent it.” Meanwhile, Nangarhar agri- culture and livestock director Eng.
