Background

Plant sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (l.) Moench) is a cereal crops have strategic and economic prospects to be developed in Indonesia.

Sorghum plants known so the response to fertilization fertilizer, especially givenPosfor.

Purpose

1. To study the effect of fertilizer application and form of percentage P in sorghum growth and crop yield.2. To determine the percentage of the application form and the corresponding P fertilizer on growth and yield of plants sorghum.

Hypothesis

Application of fertilizer P at the time of processing land last will provide growth andbetter results in various combinations and forms P percent crushed.

Materials and methods

Place

Research will be conducted on Brawijaya University Plantation that located at Jatikerto Village, Kromengan District, Malang Regency.

Time

April 2015 – August 2015

Materials

The material used is sorghum plants seed (varietal numbu), fertilizer N (in the form of urea: 45% N), fertilizer P (either SP-36: 36% P205) and fertilizers K (in the form of KCl: 60% K2O).

tools

Tools used include gembor, tugal, cameras, scales, LAM (Leaf Area Meter) and the oven.

Research methods

The research use split plot design with three replications

The combination of percentage of fertilizer P and P fertilizer form on the main plot, consists of 6 kinds, namely: 1.125% P in the fertilizer form pril (D1) 2. 100% P in the fertilizer form pril (D2) 3. 75% fertilizer P in the form of a pril (D3) 4. 125% of fertilizer P in the form of crushed (D4) 5. 100% fertilizer P in the form of crushed (D5) 6. 75% fertilizer P in the form of crushed (D6)

While the application time of fertilizer P placed on older pieces, consisting of three kinds, namely: 1. When tilling the end (T1) 2. Along with planting (T2) 3. one weeks after planting (T3)

Plot Design and Plot Sampling

Observation

Observations use destructive method by taking 2 plants for each combination treatment, taken when the plants were 2 wap, 4 wap, 6 wap, 8 wap, and observations yield at harvest (age 15 wap)

Dap (days after planting)

Observations of growth

1. Fresh root Weight per plant2. Dry root Weight per plant3. the number of leaves4. Broad leaves5. The total plant fresh Weight6. Dry the total plant Weight7. Aged flowers8. Length of malai9. Weight of panicle per plant10. seed Weight per plant

Observations of yield

1. Dry Weight total per plant

2. The length of the malai

3. Weight of panicle per plant

4. seed Weight per plant

5. The weight of 1000 seeds

6. Crop yields per acre

Plant Growth Analysis

Relative Growth Rate (RGR), and Harvest Index (HI).

Supporting Analysis

1. Analysis of the initial soil that covers the measurement of N, P and K soil.2. Analysis of the middle ground (after the application of manure) which includes the measurement of soil P content on any treatment3. Analysis of the land's end (after harvest) which includes the measurement of soil P on every treat.

Data Analysis

The data were analysis using F test at level α = 0.05. If there is interaction or significant effect of the treatment, then followed by using LSD test between treatments at the level of p = 0.05
