KASTOspeed 9: for materialcross-sections up to90 mm (31⁄2”).

Large-scale production in continuous operation is accomplished bythe KASTOspeed 9 when producing cut-off pieces of steel andnon-ferrous metals with a material cross-section up to a diameterof 90 mm (3½”). According to the chips produced by the cuttingaction of the material and the product requirements, HSS solid steelor carbide one-way saw blades with appropriate cutting speeds areused. The optimal position of the saw carriage and the four-pointmaterial clamping device enable shortest cutting paths. For thehandling of bars and cut-off pieces, different possibilities are offered.The saws can be interlinked to storage systems and machiningcenters.

KASTOspeed sawing machines for large batches set the patternfor mass cutting of steel, aluminum, brass, and copper. Solid highspeed steel (HSS) and carbide-tipped saw blades are used accord-ing to the application. This guarantees highest chip productionbecause of the rugged machine construction. Further advantagesof the KASTOspeed: short cycle times due to the fast bar pushercarriage as well as the hydraulically cushioned length gauge.

KASTOspeed 15: For materialcross-sections up to 150 mm(61⁄2”).

KASTOspeed 15 automatic circular saws fulfill the highest require-ments in power and efficiency when cutting steel with tensilestrengths up to approx. 1.400 N/mm (200,000 psi) also high-alloyed steel using one-way carbide saw blades and HSS solid sawblades. The model M15 is used for cutting non-ferrous metals withHSS or carbide tipped saw blades. The solid machine constructionwith its helical high-performance saw carriage gearing in combina-tion with a hydraulically cushioned length gauge and a fast posi-tioning bar pushing carriage guarantees highest production per-formance for precise cut-off pieces. Equipment Details and Accessories

Outfeed and sorting withoutan operator – importantprecondition for an effectivehandling.

Trim cuts and remnants are separated from the good pieces at theoutfeed side. According to the cut-off length and cutting task asorting slide or a tilting table can be offered. More containers forgood cut-off pieces can optionally be positioned in the dischargearea. An even higher grade of automation offers a robot sortingdevice which stacks the parts with different grippers according tothe cutting requirement into customer-provided containers.

For the disposal of chips produced during cutting, sturdy chipconveyors as well as powerful suction units of different designsare available. Electrostatic air filters are also available for reductionof coolant emission fumes.

Chip disposal and environmentalprotection.

In order to store large numbers of bars on the infeed side of themachine, different kinds of magazines are available. Startingwith the inclined magazine on which one layer of material ispre-stored, bundle loader on which one bundle is singled fullyautomatically, or flat magazine for square and special profilesas well as for surface-sensitive materials, different accessoriesare available for an extended operation with limited operatorinvolvement. With the direct supply out of a KASTO storagesystem, several material bundles can be processed fully auto-matically one after the other.
