Jimmy and Anna are at the London Day Camp. They meet a lot of new friends there every summer. Pete is going for the first time. He is very happy.
Look, Pete. On Mondays they play slip and slide in the morning.
Wow! I love slip and slide.
They also jump on the trampoline.
After a snack they play
basketball and do finger painting.
They have lunch. They go swimming, play table tennis, indoor hockey...
Hmmmm!?
Hi, everyone! Welcome to Day Camp! Let me show you around!
Excuse me, Sir, where’s the slip
and slide?
Excuse me, where’s the trampoline?
Just go straight on, past the swimming pool and then turn
left. The trampoline
and the slip and slide are over there.
OK, thank you.
Jimmy and Anna, see you later.
See you later.
Look! They’re playing rounders.I want to play too.
OK! See you later.
I love archery, but I can’t wait to go zorbing

The Cans
The Cans are going camping with the scouts. Mrs Can and other cubs’ mums always cook lunch. Mr Can helps too.
It’s a beautiful day for camping!
Yes, it is. Are you all ready?
You look nice in your uniforms.
I’ve got my rucksack, my sleeping bag and a torch.
I’ve got the flags.
Let’s see... On Saturday hiking and climbing. On Sunday fishing and kayaking.
Let’s go. We don’t want to be late.
OK, cubs! Let’s put up the tents.
This is a good spot. Look, the sun is in
the west.
Children, you can collect some firewood. We are frying sausages on the
campfire tonight.
Let’s clear the ground and make a circle with rocks before we light the fire.

Mrs Brown'sculture tips
Today we are talking about our planet Earth. Our
planet is a beautiful place. But sometimes
humans don’t take care of it. We children
can do something about it. Let’s see what
children in my class reduce, reuse, recycle and
replant to help save it.
REDUCE
We turn off the lights when we leave the room.
We unplug our chargers when we don’t use them.
We turn off the water when we brush our teeth or when
we take a shower.
REUSE
We don’t use plastic bags. We use a bag or basket when we
go shopping.
We wash our water bottles and use them again.
We wash the glass jars or other glass containers and use
them again.
RECYCLE
We recycle plastic bottles and tin cans.
We recycle newspapers and magazines.
We recycle our old clothes.
REPLANT
We plant trees and replant Christmas trees.
Wonderful, children! Well done! Keep up the good work!
13 Read and answer the questions.
1 How can you reduce the use of energy?
2 What can you reuse?
3 What do people usually recycle?
4 Why are trees our best friends?

Answer the question: What do you do to help save our planet Earth? Write: I promise to ... Draw or fi nd photos.
