Alameda County Supervisor Keith Carson, District 5
Fall is Fast Approaching,
with a full Community Calendar
With a blink of the eye, summer is almost over and fall is coming!
My office and I are energized to jump into the full calendar of
community events. You will see us at the upcoming Solano Stroll
in Albany and Oaktoberfest in Oakland. We will also celebrate
and highlight faith and community members for our first “Power
of Faith” event in Berkeley on September 29th. I hope to see
many of your faces throughout District 5 soon!
Yours,
Keith Carson
Keeping up with District 5
The Fifth District includes the cities of Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville and Piedmont;
the West Oakland, North Oakland and Rockridge communities and

Board of Supervisors Vote to Support the
AHEAD Act
As Chair of the Personnel, Administration, and Leg-
islation Committee, I was proud to recommend that
the Board of Supervisors support AB 1726, The
Accounting for Health and Education in API
Demographics (AHEAD) Act. Introduced and co-
authored by Assemblymember Bonta, this bill will
make it easier for members of the API community
to access supportive resources. If passed at the state
level, this bill would be an important step forward
for our API advocates and supporters.

Recognizing Local Businesses through
our “Let’s Work” Initiative
In our “Let’s Work” initiative, we highlight em-
ployers who hire individuals who have barriers to
employment. At our August 2nd Board Meeting, I
was honored to present certificates of recognition
to CEO Tom Frainier and CCO Mike Rose of
Semifreddi’s Bakery, and business owner Rahima
Deborah Walker and team members from Green
Clean a Scene, Inc. Thank you!
