Program Changes• Content of three tracks realigned into 2 tracks

• Engineer• Consultant

• Admission requirement • AA degree (some prior college education)

• Gap program offered in June 2011• provide earlier Practice Work Flow Track cohorts “missing elements of

new Consultant Track

• Founding coordinator left mid-December• New Director started end-February• Engineer instructor left November 2011

• September enrollees without instructor for 7 weeks• Once new instructor hired, class “caught-up” and completed by mid-

March

Program Effectiveness

• Evaluator met with both Engineer Tack students and Consultant Track students

• Two faculty members were asked for feedback-one provided

• Three employers of September 2011 enrollees queried• Two members of Program Advisory Committee queried

Suggestions• Greater hands-on labs in the engineering track• Additional instruction in the Consultant Track

• Basic IT instruction-IT vocabulary

• Public awareness about content & value of both KVCC EHR program and HITPro Examinations

• Assistance with HITPro Examinations

• Internship opportunities

Conclusion• Program at end of second year• Granted a no-cost extension of program to complete this

year’s work in September 2012 (last cohorts complete then)

• Granted a third year of funding to operate in all three Northern New England states (Maine, New Hampshire & Vermont)

• Additional staffing: • Full time consultant track instructor hired: Lorie Smith• Part time administrative specialist hired: Ted Bessey

• Go-to meeting software to allow for “virtual classroom”
