• KCMS earned an A in student achievement in writing

• KCMS earned a B in science• KCMS earned an A for students in

attendance and low dropout rate• KCMS earned an B in advanced

coursework. Thanks to our parents and students for valuing education.

Student Ownership

Students… Reviewed their scores from last

year. Identified strong and weak areas. Worked with teachers to set goals

for success for 2013 testing.

Probe every student to determine reading level• More time spent reading.

Changes for all grade levels.

• Reading and writing strategies as opposed to multiple choice as much as possible.

Overall Reading Improvement

Raise reading score.

• More sections of reading remediation and classes that are a semester in length as opposed to a quarter.

• Utilize a computerized program to increase fluency.

• RTI – for ALL StudentsRaise math score.

• More sections of math remediation and classes that are a semester in length as opposed to a quarter. Also, lunch and after-school tutoring.

stay at school. Keep in touch with teachers. Check grades online. Provide a place and time for

homework. Talk to your student about school
