March 10,1815.In pursuance 'of powers, which have been

duly vested in the Secretary of the Treasury,under an act of the Congress of the UnitedStates, entitled " An act to authorise a loanfor a sum not exceedinguunureu and niry-iw- o thousand, eight hundreddollars," approved by the President of theUnited States on the 3d of March, current.proposals will be received by the Secretary ofme a reasury irom tins lime, until me hrst dayof May next (unless the amount requiredshould be previously subscribed) for a loan tothe United States, of the sum of twelve mil-lions of Dolbvs, or any part thereof, on the fol-

lowing terms, and in the following manner :1. The proposals must state theamount to be

loaned : the rate at which the stock will bereceived ; the instalments in which the partywill make the payments, notexceedinir. for thewhole, ninety days from the date of the sub.scription, and the banks into which the pay.ments will be made.

2. The payments will be received either inmoney, or in approved bank notes, or in treasury notes actually issued before the 3d ofMarch current, under the acts of Congresspassed respectively, the 30th, of June.- - 1812the 26th of February,March, 1814, at their par value, with the interests accrued thereon at the time of navment. The kind of payment intended to bemade must be stated in the proposals : andwhere the terms of subscription are equal, apreference will be (riven to'offers for cavinir inTreasury Notes, which have become due andremain unpaid, with an allowance of the in-

terest upon such notes, as well since, as beforethey became due.

it enacted by the Senate and House oFRepresentatives of the United States ofAmericain Congress assembled, That all thattract ofland lying between the soot of the rapids of.the river Miami of Lake Erie and the western-lin- e

of the Connecticut Reserve, in the state ofOhio, which was ceded to the United States)by certain tribes of Indians, at a treaty con-cluded at Brownstown, in the Michigan ter-ritory, on thetwenty-fifthda-y of November.

one thousand eight hundred and eight, shallbe attached to and made a part of the districtot Canton.Sec. 2. Jlndie it further enacted, That insurveying and dividing the lands by this actattached to the district of Canton, the ordinary

mode of surveying the public lands shall be so.far deviated from that the boundary lines ofthe tracts to be laid off therein shall be runparallel to, and at right angles with the roadlaid out m conformity with the said treaty, andin every other respect the surveys shall bomade in the same manner, and for the samecompensation allowed for the surveying thaother public lands northwest of the rivei?Ohio.

Sec. j. And be it further enacted, That allthe lands by this act attached to the districtof Canton shall be offered for sale to thehighest bidder, under the direction of theregister of the land office and the receiver oEpublic monies of the said district, at suchtime and place as the president of the UnitedStates shall designate by proclamation forthat purpose; and the sales shall remain openone week and no longer ; and the said landsshall in every respect be sold on the sameterms and conditions as have been providedfor the sale of other lands of the U. States.All the lands in the said tract remaining un-sold at the close of the said sales may be dis-posed of at private sale by the register of theland office of the said district, on the sameterms and conditions, as are provided for the.sale of other public lands in the same district'--'and patents shall be obtained in the sameimanner as in case of other lands of the United'States.

Sec. 4. And be itfurther enacted, That thaaforesaid register and receiver of publicmonies shall par.h ;! r.. jn, . ,for each day's attendance on the public sales
