SCHA Minnesota members may take up to a $15 discount per class if less than $15, member may take the class free. Limit of 5 classes per year. How Do I Register?Online: Register for classes on the K-W School Website at www.kw.k12.mn.us. Click on the Community Education link.

By Mail: Send your check, money order, or credit card information with the completed reg-istration form to: K-W Community Education, 400 Sixth St., Kenyon, MN 55946. Indicate your class number and name on the registration form and include your payment.

Who Do I Pay?Please make checks payable to K-W Community Education. Checks will be deposited when received. If a class or registration is cancelled a refund check will be distributed.

When Can I Sign Up?Registration begins immediately. If space is still available in a class registrations are taken as long as possible, depending on the supplies needed by the instructor. Early registra-tions help fill classes on time and reduce the chances that the class will be canceled. Thanks for helping Community Education and our instructors by registering as early as possible.

When are Classes Canceled?If we do not have the minimum number of registrations needed, a class is cancelled when early bird registration ends or one week prior to start date.

RefundsIf you cannot attend a class you will receive a refund up to one-week prior to the class, un-less a deadline is specified. After that date your refund will be based on supplies or fees already incurred. A $5.00 cancellation fee is applied to all cancelled classes.

ScholarshipsScholarships for ECFE and youth programs are available. Contact Kris Kincaid, 507-789-7016 for more information.

Getting Ready for PreschoolChildren ages 3 -5 by September 1, 2013 Nate Dietzman & Sam MichelsGet set for fall as we explore the alphabet, fine motor skill development, num-bers and color recognition. The transition to school can be a difficult one not only for the child, but the parent as well. This class is designed to review the expecta-tions of preschool. ECFE Are you new to ECFE ? Your first class is FREE!ECFE is a Community Education program for ALL families and children birth through kindergarten entrance. At ECFE enjoy a comfortable learning setting; informal parent dis-cussion group; and fun place to meet, learn, and play with other parents and children. Classes are available to young children and their parents, often with little or no fee.Classes are held weekday mornings and evenings. Classes meet once a week or are one-time special events. Fees are based on a sliding scale according to income and house-hold size. No family will be turned away for an inability to pay. Please join us this summer at one or more of our events!Sibling Care for ECFE Classes - NEWCare is available for siblings during summer classes which meet more than once. Pool, Picnic and Party! For ages 2 through 4 with parents, Ages 5 – grade 6 on their own or with a parent.

Gather for a great day of summer fun. The Kenyon Pool will open for free swim from 11:00a.m.-12-:00p.m. After swimming enjoy a picnic lunch (hot dogs, chips, applesauce, cookie and drink). At 12:30 p.m., we will party to the

music of Will Hale. Kids are the rock stars when they clap, dance and sing along. His kid tested, parent approved and teacher recommended concerts are filled with audi-ence participation, excitement and energy. In case of rain, the picnic lunch and party with Will Hale will be held in the Depot Park Shelter. Lunch will be served starting at 12:00 p.m. Will’s show will start at 12:30 p.m. The fee is per person and includes your picnic lunch. Super-vision is provided until 1:15 p.m. Bus leaves Wanamingo at 10:30 a.m. and returns at 1:35p.m. Indicate when register-ing if you plan to ride the bus.

Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre’s

SLEEPING BEAUTY Youth entering grades 2 - 12 With an original script and music by Megan Pence & Daniel L. Stock, PFCT presents this musical adaptation of Sleeping Beauty. The Golden Age of Hollywood comes to life in this over-the-top version of the classic tale. Staged on a movie set in the 1930’s, everything that can go wrong does! The audition process lasts up to two hours and all youth auditioning are required to attend the complete time. Cast members are expected to be at all rehearsals that include their characters. A specific rehearsal schedule will be distributed on Monday, July 15. A shuttle be-tween Wanamingo and Kenyon will be provided for those who indicate they will ride the shuttle on their registra-tion form. When registering please list Prairie Fire Shuttle as a class. Afternoon Adventures!Youth entering grades 1-5 Marybelle Jacobsen and Summer Rec StaffOur afternoon adventures are filled with fun and excitement for boys and girls entering grades 1 through 5. Beginning Band LessonsClaire Larson, KW Band Director Entering 5th GradeThe Beginning Band lessons are geared to help incoming 5th graders get a good start on their instrument. “Dig Into Reading” is the theme for Summer Read-ing this year at the

Kenyon Public Library.

Kids dig getting dirty! Children will explore plants and animals that live and grow underground. They will also plant seeds, grow

grassheads, dig for fossils, learn how to dinosaur stomp and so many more fun and dirty activities.

The 2013 Summer Educational Reading Program is open to all children preschool through 4th grade.

Summer Reading will be held each Thursday and Friday in June at 10:30 a.m.

Registration for the Summer Educational Reading Program begins May 10th.

Be prepared to get your hands dirty while having some diggin’ fun!

Then players put these skills together in their weekly Tuesday games. Girls and boys play in this league. The players will have the ball pitched to them by a coach. “Incrediballs,” a soft baseball will be used. Summer recreation staff will hold morning practices on Mondays and Thursdays in Kenyon and Wa-namingo. For the Tuesday evening game held each week. Strength, Conditioning, & Speed CampEntering Grades 6-12 in Fall 2013Coach: Jesse JensenAre you looking for a workout that builds strength and endurance? Join this program which combines weight training and strength exercises. Learn the correct way to lift weights, get into the right habits for your future work-out routines and building overall strength. This program is for male and female athletes of all sports.Jesse Jensen is a NSCA Certfied Personal Trainer. He has an Associate Degree in Exercise and Sport Science and a Personal Training Certification from Dakota County Technical College.Matte at K-WM/HS Weight Room in Kenyon (Enter Door 5). Knights Volleyball CampsJenna Starck Entering Grades 4-12, Fall 2013Jenna Starck graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (UW-L) in 2010. While at UW-L, Jenna was a four-time volleyball letter winner and a member of UW-L’s teams in 2007 and 2008 that played in the national tournament for Division III. Her degrees are in Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education and she currently teaches at Holmen High school in Wisconsin, where Jenna is the head volleyball coach. Knights Basic Skills Camp Grades 4-5We will teach you the basic skills of volleyball, strategies, and team work. We will stress fundamentals of the game while having a lot of fun learning!

Knights Middle School Skills Camp Grades 6-8 This camp meets the needs of all levels of players whether you are just starting out or have been introduced to volleyball for a few years. The camp will focus on basic skills of: passing, setting, serving, blocking and hitting. We will also introduce offensive and defensive strategies on the court.

Knights High School Elite Camp Grades 9-12 We will focus on perfecting basic fundamentals of the game as well as advanced skills such as: spot serving, jump serving, hitting and defending quick attacks along and many more strategies. Our camp will also provide a combination of team drills, competition, individual skill development, and activities to improve chemistry between players.
