     £52,232 Pay from all employments 

    Explanation: The amount to be declared on self assessment tax forms is taxable pay. This is

    less than an MSP's gross salary of £58,678 between 1 April 2014 and 31 March 2015. The

    £6,445 is pension contributions which are not taxable.

    £4,282 "Plus Benefits and expenses received"  

    Explanation: They represent office cost expenses for 2014/15.

     £457 "Underpaid tax for earlier years in your tax code for 2014-15"  

    Explanation: Paid through PAYE for underpaid tax for 2010/11. This was due to duplication of

    allowances as Kezia Dugdale had changed jobs that year.

     Amount to be paid to HMRC by 31st January - £734.40 

    Explanation: Tax payable on Kezia Dugdale's Daily Record column income.

    Page 6:

     £5450 in Gift Aid payments made in the year to 5 April 2015 

    Explanation: This is the amount MND Scotland has received in Gift Aid donations through

    Kezia Dugdale's Daily Record column.

     £5450 Your Turnover - the takings, fees, sales or money earned by your business. Explanation: This is the fee for Kezia Dugdale's Daily Record column. As noted above, all of

    this fee is donated directly to MND from the Daily Record and Kezia Dugdale does not benefit

    personally.

    Explanation: This is the tax free allowance that was claimed for self-employed work from

    home.

    Explanation: This is the "Your turnover" figure of £5450 minus the "Other allowable business

    expenses" figure of £208.
