NOTES TO OUR CUSTOMERS Khulisane Academy is a dynamic company that was established on 1 October 2003. The core focus of the business is to serve as Skills Development Practitioner, to assist businesses with the Skills Development Act / Skills Development Levies Act compliance and to help with the implementation of the National Skills Development Strategy.
Khulisane Academy firmly beliefs in employing highly qualified and competent Education, Training and Development Practitioners who are equipped to assist the South African Labour Market with training planning, implementation and reporting responsibilities. We constantly strive to create job opportunities for Previously Disadvantaged Individuals (PDIs) through forming associations with individuals by contracting out facilitators and assessors where the need arises.
Our purpose is to provide skills programmes, short courses and assessment services in the Business, Commerce and Management Field as well as the Education Training and Development Field, where these programmes are desperately needed. Khulisane Academy offers training and assessment that focus on the development of the individual, according to client organisation’s Human Resources Development Strategy, Workplace Skills Plan and Employment Equity Plan.

Through our experience we have realised how valuable readymade tools and templates are to the Education Training and Development Practitioner. We have therefore developed a range of toolkits available on CD to assist the ETD Practitioner with the smooth running of their operation. The following Khulisane Toolkits are available to purchase:
Item 1: QMS Toolkit for the training providerThe purpose of this toolkit is to provide the Training Provider with a detailed Quality Management System for the strategic development and management of the training institution for the provision of quality services related to training and development interventions.
Item 2: Learning Material Developer ToolkitThe purpose of this toolkit is to provide Learning Material Developers with best practices electronic templates for successfully developing learning material according to NQF requirements.
Item 3: Skills Development Facilitator ToolkitThe purpose of this toolkit is to provide SDF’s with best practices electronic templates to successfully facilitate skills development processes according to the Skills Development Act and Skills Development Levies Act. This toolkit will enable the SDF to conduct training needs analysis throughout the development of Personal Development Plans (PDIs) for all the employees. This process will be conducted on an annual basis following the development of the business plan and will inform the drafting of the ETD budget. This will result in the annual Workplace Skills Plan (WSP). The assessment of the individual training needs will be conducted on an on-going basis as part of the performance reviews.
Item 4: Moderator ToolkitThe purpose of this toolkit is to provide Moderators with best practices electronic templates for successfully conducting internal moderations according to NQF requirements.
Item 5: Assessor ToolkitThe purpose of this toolkit is to provide Assessors with best practices electronic templates for successfully conducting assessments according to assessment regulations.
Item 6: Facilitator ToolkitThe purpose of this toolkit is to provide Facilitators with best practices electronic templates for successfully facilitating outcomes-based learning according to NQF requirements.

PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAMME This qualification aims to prepare a learner to provide compliance services to assist management to discharge their responsibilities to comply with applicable regulatory requirements.

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE
It is assumed that the learners who attend this pro-gramme:• Are at least at an educational level of grade 12
with Mathematics and Communication level 4• Have at least one year’s relevant compliance work
experience
• Are working in a compliance department and role• Have a basic understanding of the legal environ-
ment in South Africa• Have computer and general office skills (faxing, fill-
ing, e-mail)
METHODOLOGYTraining Programme Strategy: The training strategy that will apply to this programme will be a combina-tion of the following:
• Contact sessions at Khulisane Academy combined with self-study to address the knowledge and practical skills components of the curriculum
• A structured work experience programme at the site of an approved workplace to address the work experience component of the curriculum
Assessment: Khulisane will conduct internal as-sessments by means of assessment activities and signed-off work experience log sheets. Upon suc-cessful completion of all six modules, Khulisane pro-vides a statement of results to the candidate and the Compliance Institute Southern Africa (CI), as part of the candidate’s application to complete the External Summative Assessment conducted by the CI.
Certification: Upon successful completion of the External Summative Assessment, candidates will be recommended by the CI to the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) for certification.
TARGET GROUPThe profile of learners who can access this qualifica-tion is quite varied. It includes learners who are: • School leavers who are drawn into compliance
practice• Higher Institution graduates, typically with ac-
counting or legal qualifications• Practitioners currently operating in the compliance
field
BENEFITSOnce qualified, learners could be employed in a va-riety of compliance functions within organisations, or be able to set up their own independent practice to provide consulting or outsourced compliance serv-ices.
