Getting Your Team in Place
Other Service Team Committee Members
Communications Increase visibility of Girl Scouting within the local community. Activities may include placing articles in local newspapers and fliers, coordinate displays in public areas, notify troops of local opportunities such as parades, festivals, etc.– knowledge of community media, excellent communication and writing skills, works well with others.
Secretary Take notes and prepare minutes of Service Team and Service Unit meetings. Handle correspondence as directed by the Service Unit Manager. Skills needed – detailed oriented, excellent writing skills, reliable and punctual.
Treasurer Manage Service Unit checking account, assist new troops with opening bank accounts. May review troop financial forms as needed. Skills needed – detail oriented, reliable, accounting skills.
Mentor Work with new leaders. Specialist Skills needed – Girl Scout program knowledge, people person, excellent communication skills.
Specific Event Coordinator
Oversee the planning and implementation of Service Unit Program Events such as Thinking Day programs, dances, bridging programs, age level activities, special interest activities, etc. Skills needed – organized, detail oriented, knowledge of Girl Scout program, works well with others.
Key Responsibilities of all Service Team

• Section 1 contains new language on our Whistleblower Policy, Transgender Youth, and our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement.
• Section 1, page 11 update to Criminal Background Check process. Volunteers now need to renew before date of CBC expiration.
• Section 1, page 12 contains new language on GSWO’s right to monitor and contribute to GSWO online websites
• Section 1, page 18 “Alcohol and Drug Use’ policy language has been updated. • Sections 2 and 3 contain new information, including information on setting up first troop meeting
and tips on parent meetings.• Product Program is its own section• Section 6, page 48 Fifth Third is now our ONLY preferred bank. PNC has been removed from
