Our Team Tell us about your team: Our team is from Clarence Middle school. We started out by creating the team name.(The blades) get it? the blades! This name is cool because of the wind turbine blades we made. Then we discussed about how many blades would work well and what materials. Then we designed our blades. Then we tested the blades at three different testing stations.

Design Brief Problem Statement (What is the problem that your teacher has given you to solve?):THE problem we need to solve is we need to find a way to use more renewable resources like wind, solar energy, and hydro electricity .NON reneable resources are running low and we don’t have enough of it.Also some examples are natural gas, coal, and oil.

Design Statement (How are you going to solve this problem? Include the process you are going to take to solve the given problem) : We can solve this problem by building a winterbine. We build the winterbine by using the proper materials or the blade. We will find the right design and how many blades we need to use for the winterbine.

Design Brief Constraints (What you can and cannot do/use.):

• we cannot use metal• we can use cardboard• We can use balsa wood • We can use coraplast• We use up to twelve blades• It cant’t be longer than ten

inches

Deliverables (What materials and items you need to solve this problem)

• We will use cardboard tubes• We will make six blades
