Birthdays: All parents are welcome to bring a special snack treat to celebrate their child’s birthday. We ask that you give us at least one week’s notice so we can plan for your child’s special event. For birthdays, we will allow cupcakes or cake (please make sure to bring plates, forks, and a knife to slice), but still do NOT allow juice of any kind.

Toys: Please do NOT allow your child to bring toys from home to school. We want to avoid the risk of personal items being misplaced, stolen, or broken. We have plenty of toys here at school for all the children to play with. We are not responsible for any broken or lost toys!

Homework: Homework folders go back and forth from school   to home daily. Inside the folder you will find your child’s weekly homework packet (due on Fridays), letters that need to be returned to school, newsletters, and updates on what is happening in our school and classroom. Homework packets will be sent home on Mondays and can be completed at your own pace. It is essential that you check your child’s homework folder every night in order to maintain constant, efficient communication between school and home.

Reading:We know you and your children are very busy but it is extremely CRITICAL to fit in 20 minutes of reading at home into your child’s daily schedule. Research shows that reading a minimum of 20 minutes a day has a tremendous impact on a child’s performance in school. Still not convinced? See below!
