April 11, 2012 Maddison French

Lemoore 4-H Reporter

The meeting took place at 6:33 p.m. at Cinnamon Elementary in Lemoore, with, 28 members in attendance. The pledge of allegiance was lead by Hadley Garcia. She was our uniform winner, and the 4-H pledge was lead by Reid Jacobs, which was our on time winner for the meeting. The Secretary’s report was read, and then followed Treasurer’s Re-port, Birthday’s and Club Leader Reports. Mrs. Diener from the CE office came to our meeting to catch us up on upcoming events, answered questions we have for the 4-H and Kings Fair for this year, and discussed the 4-H Council Meeting. It was great having her attend our meeting and being so helpful. Thanks Mrs. Diener. In old business, we talked about Livestock Judging Day, 4-H Fair Archer Match results, and project reports from members. In new business, some of the things we talked about were Kings County Leaders and Sponsors Recognition Dinner this month, Coun-ty Fashion Review, which follows the dinner, Sectional Presentation Day, County Wide Dog Project, Kings County 4-H Fair, Sheep Field Day, State Leadership Conference. We also discussed Project Leader dates and Nominated Officers for the 2012-2013 4-H Years. Good luck to all those running for an of-fice. We then had our recreation time where we made outfits out of pa-per, and then adjourned the meeting at 7:25 p.m.

4-H Club News

Lemoore 4-H club Reporter Maddison French

May Report The meeting of the Lemoore 4-H club was called to order at 6:31p.m. on May 9, 2012, at Cinnamon Elementary School. After the Pledge of Allegiance and our 4-H Pledge lead by Dalton Garcia, we continued with club reports. Club Leader Report from Mrs. Barry was happy to express another exciting year for many of our mem-bers that entered exhibits and/or brought a project to show at the 4-H Fair. Allison Mendenhall gave an interesting speech to our club about her FRY project. She has worked with this project for years and talked about how the fish eat, what they need in their food, and other issues. It was interesting. There was a great turn out and congratulations to all those who competed. We also announced to our club that Mrs. Barry was awarded a 15-year achievement award for all of her time and knowledge she has provided our club in Lemoore. Way to go Mrs. Barry, keep up the good work. We also made birthday announcements for everyone with a May birthday, with a gift bag and well wishes from our mem-bers. In old business, we discussed Project Reports, which included the Archery Match, Reptile Projects, Dog Care, Swine, OH and Poultry. New Business discussions were about Kings County Fair, and prepa-rations for it, then following discussions were about California State Leadership Conference and then Project Leader’s Reports. Finally, our club had our officer’s speech for those running for an office for the 2010-2013 4-H year and then we all voted. It was a busy night. Happy Mothers day to all 4-H moms. Thank you for all you do, from Lemoore 4-H The meeting was adjourned at 7:25 p.m.

Thank You

The Blomquist Family and friends generously donated $2,140 to Kings County 4-H Council in memory of their great-grandmother Ruth Per-kins who believed in sharing her talents where ever there was a need.
