Put your Compassion into Action!
Week of Compassion offering
February 26th. When you give through Week of Compassion to those who suffer from natural disasters, war, or systemic poverty, you let them know: You are here!
Kings Highway Christian
KHCC’s Ladies Spring Retreat Sponsored by: The Disciples Women’s Ministry
Date: 11 March 2017
Location: Fellowship Hall
Registration: 9:00 am-1:00 pm ($5.00 Fee)
Guest Speaker: Jennifer DuVall M.S., Forensic Interviewer/ Multidisciplinary Team Coordinator The DWM’s are calling all ladies to come join us for a great morning of fellowship and
please by all means bring a friend. There will be lots of snacks, door prizes and lunch.
We are excited to have Jennifer come talk to us about the horrible realities of sex
crimes and trafficking around the world, but more importantly right here in our very
own Shreveport/Bossier area. She will explain how they try to help the victims of sex-
ual assault and about some of the signals to look out for. I am excited to listen and
learn about what we can do possibly help. Hope to see you there!

For the next two Sundays, February 26th and March 5th, we will be learning
about the story “Healing of the Paralytic”. The scripture comes from Mark
2:1-12. On February 26th, we will be walking (weather permitting) to Casa
Esperanza to take some treats to the children who are staying there. On
March 5th, Clint Snell is going to come and talk to the children about ways
that his business helps handicapped people. What a treat!
We just want you to know that we are busy at “The River” and learning a lot
about the Bible. If you would like to help, please tell us. We can always use
some extra ideas and extra help!
Thank you for your wonderful children,
Linda Dame
Carol Peyton

Monday Night Bible Study Bible Study led by Robert Asher on Monday’s at 6:00 pm in the
Fellowship Hall. Please call the church office if you have any
questions.
Disciples Women Ministry The DWM’s Day group meets in the parlor at 10:30 am on the
3rd Monday of each month, while the night group meets at 6:00
pm on the 2nd Wenesday of each month. JOY Fellowship is held
in the Fellowship Hall at 9:30 am on the 4th Monday of the
month. Our doors and our hearts are always open and ready to
welcome all who want to grow with us.
The DWM’s are very involved within our church, local, regional,
national and internationally. However, we are always looking
and listening for new projects and new ways that we can help
those that are in need. We had not realized until recently that a
group right under our noses needs assistance. What group you
ask? Well, its’s Casa Esperanza. Our very own “House of Hope”.
Casa Esperanza needs many items, but we are asking for every-
one to bring at least one non-perishable item to JOY Fellowship
every month. The items will be collected and given to Casa Es-
peranza. Also, besides having a basket for the NOEL food pantry
in the fish bowl, we will be adding a basket for those who would
like to donate to Casa Esperanza. Both are great causes, either
way don’t’ forget to bring your non-perishable item each month
to JOY Fellowship. Hope to see you at our next DWM meeting
and JOY Fellowship!
Needs for Casa Esperanza: Toiletries, cleaning supplies, cookies,
coffee, sugar, creamer, grocery store gift cards (Walmart),
children & family Christian DVD’s.
