The Sunday of the Resurrection The morning started dark, forlorn The cross, the nails, the crown of thorn Had taken Jesus off from us forever. We wandered through long shadows' fear Yet in the new day's twilight born A whisper rose to speak of hallelujah. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, halleluuuujah. The huge black stone was rolled away The cave smelled fresh like new mown hay A silent light was growing through the rock bed. His body gone, the soldiers fled, An angel flash called out and said Who'd you seek among the dead: hallelujah. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, halleluuuujah. Our hearts were broken yet again. His body taken by evil men? Our eyes filled up with rainy tears that hid him. Yet he stood there strong life again, Took my breath and called my name. A new song rose inside my heart: hallelujah. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, halleluuuujah. His eyes so clear and full of love This God right here not off above This God incarnate killing death and hatred. He looked at me, I felt on fire, Emboldened with a wild new hope To sing unbounded songs of hallelujah. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, halleluuuujah. Resurrection hope sings true I share it now in joy with you So let's take hands and shout out hallelujah! The world is dark with hate and fear But God is here, our God is here, And fills our rising hearts with hallelujahs. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, halleluuuujah.

Easter Retreat: The Way of Light
Saturday, April 21
9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
After his Resurrection and prior to his Ascension and the Holy Spirit descending at Pentecost, Jesus ap-peared to his loved ones again and again. This retreat offers the opportunity to experience each of his appear-ances along with his Ascension and Pentecost through story, prayer, meditation, a labyrinth walk, and break-ing bread in the Holy Eucharist in an Agape meal. (In the early church, Communion was always part of a regular meal sometimes called an Agape or a love feast.) Please let the office know if you plan to attend.

Next Snack Pack Packing
We will be filling more Snack Pack bags on Thursday April 12 at 9:30 a.m. in the Parish House. We plan to
fill 200, which will finish out the school year. We have always had such good help with this project and Tug-gie and I certainly appreciate Kingston Parish’s com-
mitment. We can always use monetary help to rebuild our fund. All donations are appreciated and are tax de-ductible. Make checks to Kingston Parish and note
Snack Pack in the memo line. Thanks and hope to see many of you on April 12th.
Snack Packs Fundraiser April 20
Paul Gibson and Jan Mohr, two of our newest mem-bers, are coordinating a Wine Tasting fundraiser to raise money for the Snack Pack program. Michael Shaps, award-winning winemaker, will be present at the Parish House to pour two white and two red varie-tals. Assorted charcuterie, cheese and bread boards will be served. Additional glasses of wine may be pur-chased for $15 each.
Debbie Lambert will be available to discuss the Snack Pack Program and have samples of the snack packs that go home with children from area schools each week.
This event April 20th from 5:30-8:00 p.m. is limited to 50 guests and 25 slots have already been taken. The cost is $50 per person. Contact Paul Gibson by email: [email protected] to reserve a place at this event. Payment will be accepted at the door. If paying by check, make payable to Paul Gibson.

"Rooted and Grounded in Love”
Come join us at Shrine Mont, July 27th, 28th and 29th for a wonderful shared time with Ware and Abingdon and each other at our Annual Family Weekend Retreat. Registration forms are now available on page 3 of this month's Crier, the Parish House and at Christ Church. Please register by APRIL 24th and be ready to experience a wonderful time of renewal in the mountains of Virginia. If you are interested in going but feel you cannot commit at this time, please let Mary Chapman know so we can talk about it. My email and cell number are at the end of this article. I know this is an early deadline, but Shrine Mont has asked for the earlier commitment this year. And, in order to reserve our rooms, we must give them a firm number by April 25th.
The weekend is designed to appeal to all ages and stages of life. There will be fellowship time, mu-sic time, workshop time, bonfire time, worship time, porch rocking time, meal time, and free time....the only thing we probably won't have enough of is TIME itself...so many wonderful choices! Once again the weekend coincides with the Shenandoah Music Festival...a beautiful even-ing of music under the stars...yet another oppor-tunity!
Kingston Parish has money available for assis-tance for the weekend. This year we are also able to offer the opportunity for children under 18 to attend at no cost. We are looking forward to an-other great Wabingston Retreat at Shrine Mont. Make your reservations now and bring a friend... children 18 and under are FREE this year… all ages are encouraged to come.
Don't let the unknown of Shrine Mont keep you away....I guarantee once you get there, you will not want to leave! It's a beautiful and sacred space to commune with nature and each other, and a perfect place to play and pray.

Monday Class for Easter/Pentecost “I call you friends.” (John 15:15)
What does true friendship look like? How are you friends with God? What is friendship in Christian community? How are you friends with God’s creation?
We will explore these questions and more in our Monday class beginning April 16th from 1:00 - 2:30 PM. Come join us!
Fr. Gary
Thank You!
Dear Kingston Parish Family,
Thank you all so much for your support during my recent unexpected medical issues. Your calls, texts, notes and visits meant a great deal to me. The gour-met soup delivery was greatly enjoyed by the family. It is a true blessing to live in such a kind and caring community.
Martha Ellen Traband
Dear Kingston Parish Family,
Thank you so much for the beautiful poinsettia during Christmas, the phone calls, visits, food, rides, cards and help with my healing care. I also appreciate the loan of the in tub seat and walkers during this time. I’m still learning to walk with a possible second sur-gery facing me (prayerfully not!) Thank you especial-ly for your prayers during this long recovery from my heel surgery. I feel so blessed to be a member of our wonderful Kingston Parish family!
Thank you and God bless each of you! Carol Swartz
Dear Kingston, April 3, 2018
Thank you to all the parishioners and staff for your condolences over my mother’s death. They meant so much to me and would have meant much to the grand old lady who is still “Mama” to me.
Nina Guy
Dear Gold Sponsors, Feb. 28, 2018
Thank you for making your 2018 donations. We really appreciate it.
