WaterfrontPlanningProcess• The LWRP set policies for the revitalization;
• The Implementation Plan listed public and private actions to
accomplish the
revitalization;
• Using grant funding, feasibility studies, construction designs
and actual construction projects are undertaken.
• Plans and studies (LWRP IP, BOA, Ferry Feasibility, Harbor Management;
Stormwater and
Flooding
Engineering)
are
all
meant to be components of the upcoming GEIS which will predict build out levels and analyze the environmental impacts, the infrastructure requirements, the mitigation of
brownfield areas,
plan
for
the
impact
of
water
rise
and
periodic flooding as well as an updated economic study. This
will help foster implementation of the revitalization on a
shorter timetable.

• With the help of NYSDOS, NYSOPRHP, DOT, FHWA, GREENWAY,
the Waterfront Advisory Committee, Scenic Hudson,
Clearwater, the Maritime Museum and Trolley Museum, as
well as
Mayor
Sottile
and
the
Common
Council,
progress
has
been made over these last 10 years.
• There are still projects and challenges that lie ahead, and with
continued momentum
and
funding,
the
revitalization
will
be
advanced.
•
Kingston
is
indeed
a
jewel
on
the
Hudson,
with
the
best
waterfront in terms of the harbor reach, public access, events
and open space.
