Kirk Chair Kit AssemblyYou will be building five (5) basic structures.
1. Pedestal
2. Pedestal Support
3. Chair Cradle
4. Chair Cradle Support
5. Consoles (x2)
PedestalLayout all parts for the Pedestal on a table.
Attach (staples reccommended) all outer panels to the underside of main platform.
Sides are inboard of front and backs.
The backs will dangle a bit until you attach the Pedestal Support.
Pedestal SupportParts needed
Attach the spacers perpendicular to the tangent of the circle around the edge of the circle

Add two additional ribs to attach the skin for the back.
The Pedestal Support slides UNDER the main platform of the pedestal and
the skin (not included in the kit) staples to the outside.
A few extra right angle brackets for support might not kill you here. Make them. But don't over do it. (Hans)
Chair CradleParts needed
Attach all together as shown. Parts A and B have a bevels cut into them to create the front angle. Use the diagram below for the profile of the cradle.

Chair Cradle SupportBasically the same as above. Only with a single extra rib.
Attach the spacers perpendicular to the tangent of the circle around the edge of the circle
Add one additional rib to attach the skin.
Cut a skin to length and attach. Trim flush on top and bottom.
Consoles (x2)Parts needed

Attach the 5" pieces between the two side panels in alphabetical order making sure they are square. Some of the 5" wide pieces are long to allow fortrimming but they do have bevels in them to make a better fit. Dry fit everything first and tape the end to work out the best fit
PartsYou should have the five main parts now.
The Consoles attach 1/2" forward of the cradle.
The Cradle Support sit center in the Pedestal 1/2" forward of the back.
On the show the chair pivots between the Cradle and the Cradle Support.
How you make it spin and return is up to you. I may add additional info here as I complete my chair so check back.
