"Now What is the point doing science if it is not were to be accessible?“(Scaria,2005) This question became the epicenter of thought worldwide in the begining of the present century. This gave rise to the open access movement. We have come across n number of such intiatives abroad and also in this country. Open access ventures in the form of Institutional Repositories, Digital Libraries, Open archives, etc. are creeping up in India gradually. In this juncture my paper intends to “Open Access Journals in Library and Information Science”

A survey has found that there are more than 300 journal titles in Library and Information Science are available as free publication.
